James K (kr) wrote: Three not related love stories of three sisters form the backbone of this star-studded movie from Hong Kong. Many actors/actress would be immediately recognized by movie-goers with an interest in Asian pop culture. The stories were rather ordinary. The one where a movie star fell in love with a young watermelon seller was very sappy yet romantic. The one where two astronauts with a history was interesting but due to needing to jump around the stories, has a very interupted pace. The one where a rubbish collector dated a painter-want-to-be with OCD was quite old-fashioned. I just can't see myself brining this movie into the "not-rotten" category.

It takes care to praise the hard-working teachers who fight for our children's futures while exposing the system that holds them back. The soundtrack is awful, but the facts presented make this a must-see expose.

Joel A (it) wrote: This truly an awful film that is a combination of horrible filmmaking & strange elements that truly don't make sense.More or less the story of Santa Claus battling the Devil for children's minds.Strange costumes, sets & acting this is truly an acquired taste. May have been a hit with audiences in Mexico not sure if it'll be as well received in English Speaking Audiences.

Give it an eight. -And a french film that i already forgot the name of. Bunch of schoolkids go on a skiing trip. One of them is a bed-wetter who sees nightmares and stuff. Very psychological. Anyone know this one? I give it a nine. Damn I should've kept a list of the films I've seen lately. So many I'm forgetting.
Steve S (gb) wrote: **1/2 (out of four) Not all film versions of Neil Simon's plays hit their mark. This is one of the ones that is missing his clever humor. A great cast headlines this movie about a group of people who check into the high class Beverly Hills Hotel on the weekend of the Academy Awards. The lines are more forced and the situations less interesting. One interesting note: Maggie Smith became the only person to win an Oscar for playing an Oscar loser.

I can see the appeal this film may have had when it first came out, but it definitely did not stand the test of time.Cheesy acting, typical story, and doesn't contribute any thoughtful lessons a post cold-war era.Would not recommend.
