Anna Paquin is a great actress (who oddly enough has not even been nominated for an Oscar since her win for "The Piano" when she was 11...strange I think). I've only seen Breckin Meyer in a few lame movies, but he was surprisingly good in this. His passion for the Democratic party was slightly misguided (I mean seriously, who would ACTUALLY give up United States citizenship for this?), but hey he was trying to "make a statement"...or whatever.

Adrian F (jp) wrote: bats is filled with funny cliches and one liners from its actors, but thats about it. horror fans can somewhat enjoy this film because of those reasons. the effects are god awful and the storyline is weak. the film has some energy and is fast paced but is mainly unscary nor suspenseful.

Barb P (ag) wrote: Saw this movie back in the 90's and it is one of the saddest movies I have ever seen.

kameron s (jp) wrote: It is an Alfred Hitchcock film, but for Sean Connery i watched it. his looks (esp. eyes) are like Billy Zane's in it. and he was great at 34 years of age as well. The plot is not great, albeit no problems with engaging the audience. But the performances are good. Very good even. If the expectation is not high recommended.

Nate N (de) wrote: Very sick & twisted. It's amazing this thing really happened.

Ashley H (nl) wrote: Hackers is another decent film. It is about a young boy who is arrested by the US Secret Service for writing a computer virus and is banned from using a computer until his 18th birthday. Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie give good performances. The script is a little slow in places. Iain Softley did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the action.

justin j (ag) wrote: State of Grace: Honestly I wasn't all that excited when my dad said he recorded a movie that has Sean Penn and Gary Oldman in it, but when i saw that it was a mob movie, my attention rose. State of Play is a late 80's irish mob tale with similarities to the 2006 best picture The Departed, but at first we don't realize it. Sean Penn just rolls in Hell's Kitchen after a ten year absence from place unknown. His friends Gary Oldman and a skinny and very young and serious John C. Reilly, yes Step Brothers and Talladega Nights John C. Reilly, have close connections to the local Irish mob ran by another big name Ed Harris. now the story does have alot of layers and alot of things do happen so i won't get into it to much, just that Sean Penn isn't exectly who he says he is, but actually acop who must infiltrate and rat on his old friends. it is a very good movie and a pleasent surprise.
