Songs from the Second Floor
A film poem inspired by the Peruvian poet César Vallejo. A story about our need for love, our confusion, greatness and smallness and, most of all, our vulnerability. It is a story with many characters, among them a father and his mistress, his youngest son and his girlfriend. It is a film about big lies, abandonment and the eternal longing for companionship and confirmation.

(de) wrote: What REALLY annoys me is the sheer IGNORANCE of people who loved this movie. Do people chose to think this way because it's an "art house" creation and they don't want to be perceived as "ignorant"? Or are they just SHEEP? This so called documentary is crap and I believed about 10% of what the main perpetrators were waffling on about, feeding their egos and making it up as they went. It reminded me of a bunch of 14 year old school kids trying to make a video about something they might've done in a time gone by. Of course I am aware that the killings occurred in 1965-66 but I seriously doubt that these pathetic individuals had much to do with it. They merely took advantage of a situation and got some minor funding to make a stupid video (and were probably by Oppenheimer to do so)I would have liked to hear more about the US/ CIA involvement in compiling the lists of those communists that were to be killed along with statements from former officials such as Robert J. Martens, a former member of the U.S. Embassy's political section who is now a consultant to the State Department. "They probably killed a lot of people, and I probably have a lot of blood on my hands, but that's not all bad. There's a time when you have to strike hard at a decisive moment." Hmmmm this sounds slightly familiar. As a documentary of any value, one would expect to hear from victim's families and local people who remember those times.Maybe the director was limited in his abilities to do so because of Government intervention. Maybe. I found this neither shocking nor informative but only amateurish and pathetic, especially Anwar and his over acted simulated feelings of grief and torment for his actions. Pure and utter bullshit.
(jp) wrote: Absolutely awful performance from Selena, how she manages to hack computer networks with couple of taps on a tablet is highly believable. Not sure why Ethan chose to do this movie, its a boring monotonous car chase, which gets nowhere.
(ag) wrote: As usual, gripping and tense at the beginning and snooze fest later on. Couldn't really sympathize with any of the character either since they're all at fault. But I'm giving credit for its beautiful cinematography and acting. At least they try.
