Mikael K (us) wrote: Mia, a successful but serious woman about to get married and Frida, a mischievous and adventurous teacher living with her girlfriend are about to become step sisters. They meet on their parents(TM) engagement party under happy but strained conditions. Mia, who appears a tad too late to the party with her fianc (C) Tim, isn(TM)t on the best of turns with her father. She gets further infuriated when her father skips a retreat into the family(TM)s island villa, leaving Mia alone with Frida and her mother. Then, one evening on the villa, Mia kisses Frida. What ensues is a messy and tragic tangle. The women start to destroy everything they have as they enter a manic, uncontrollably passionate relationship they can(TM)t keep a secret forever. The premise is very old- at first I kept thinking that I(TM)ve seen the same story too many times already- but Kyss Mig? has the guts to take the basic coming out / self-discovery tale further. We don(TM)t get a clich (C)d romantic movie but a tragic, analytical one. Every action has consequences and honesty doesn(TM)t guarantee happiness.Alexandra-Therese Keining has filled her feature with a magnificent cast and given them truly excellent material to work with. There are more truly perfect scenes in the film that one can keep count of. Keining(TM)s visual style is absolutely beautiful, complementing the top-grade text and acting in just the right ways.

David D (kr) wrote: Somehow I missed the fact that this was an animated film when I chose to watch it. The animation is not top quality but not annoyingly bad. The story is okay, although it has some holes in its logic -- if you can call anything about this story "logic". It wasn't anything very good but it was entertaining.

Jennie R (ru) wrote: Pretty good flick. It is a tad predictable but it kept my attention all the way to the end. The storyline is similar to "What Lies Beneath". The story unravels slowly and the pieces fit well together. The end of the movie was remiscent of some of the old 80's horror flicks. One scene looked straight out of "Happy Birthday to Me." Worth catching if you find it. I happened to find it in a 4 pack DVD for $5 at Best Buy. It was worth the $5 just for that movie!

Steven L (us) wrote: This is a "let it soak in" film. At nearly three hours, there is a lot to take in, to process, to analyze. It is richly layered with everyday characters dealing with everyday events - school, ailing parents, money-borrowing relatives. It is how their stories intersect and interact that brings larger drama and larger questions. At the film's heart is the question: are you searching for something real in life or something magical? In the end, it seems that the magic is unattainable and even harmful, unless you give yourself over to something real first. I'm still thinking about it though, so these ideas may not hold true tomorrow.

Rick L (fr) wrote: I have to admit that even if the script wasn't as good as it is, I'd still like watching so many of the Douglas clan. This was fun regardless, though.

Tom S (gb) wrote: Picks up in its final stretch ? the last scene is amazing ? but for this viewer took too long to arrive there.
