Sophie's Choice

Meryl Streep stars as Sophie, a Polish immigrant who shares a boarding house in Brooklyn with her tempestuous lover, Nathan (Kevin Kline in his feature film debut), and a young writer, Stingo (Peter MacNicol).

Sophie, who has escape from Auschwitz concentration camp, moves to Brooklyn with Nathan Landau, her lover. Stingo, who is a novelist and a friends of them, visits and spends sometimes with them. Aaron E (nl) wrote: C. Thomas Howell as the Soul Man!! This is not a movie that would be made today, but somehow they combined a cheesy 80's college comedy into a movie that is also trying to be socially aware. It's end result is pretty messy, but interesting enough to keep me fully engaged.
