Hugo C (fr) wrote: it tells a touching romance of different kind - a black & white gay love. It gives insights of what love is about - all you need to a one-step-forward admittance.

Tim B (es) wrote: I obtained this movie as a double feature with the great "Cherry Falls" (which is the only way you can own it on DVD... lame) and wasn't even going to bother watching it. But boredom hit, the itching for something new came into play and I popped it in the player. I must say I was over-all surprised; this is a decent little sleeper anthology. It surrounds a dude (John Ritter) trying to sell a couple three different houses, all with their own evil history attatched to it. The first story involves a hussy wife and her duder killing her husband and covering it up. It wasn't very scary all around and pretty predictable, there was also a certain character move that was pretty unbelievable, consdiering the storyline. But it stayed entertaining, dark and edgy. The second story was my favorite of the lot and involved a father, his little girl and a monkey that they find, who isn't as innocent as it looks. This one involved me big time, had me rooting for the good guy to win (a rarity) and an ending that blew me away. The third story involved a kid going to a psychiatrist, claiming to have a psychic link with a serial killer. One one hand, the killer was a little freaky while being humorous, the build-up was awesome and the performances were great, but it was still pretty predictable (not as much as the first story). Overall, this one was really good but could've been more. The wrap-around story was pretty interesting and sported a wacky ending. It worked, but felt kind of like a last minute, random thing. Overall, it was fun and fit the movie well. Clint Hutchison and Lance W. Dreesen gave a good show on their stories. The first story was the least intense, but the other were were way intense and they all flow very easily. The wrap around is also great with energy coming through the camera. Good job on their parts. One thing for sure, this will be the movie that made me like John Ritter (RIP). He gives a pretty funny showing and I enjoyed his performance. Rachel York has to play a mess and does it well. Carmine D. Giovinazzo felt off as a badass but the fact that the dude is so pumped convinced me enough. Bryan Cranston felt very real and convincing in his role. Will Estes did a very good job and displayed vulnerability with a bit of suspicion wonderously. Brenda Strong was effective and a delight to watch. Buff Bagwell shows up in a funny cameo. If you dig Creepshow, you'll dig this movie. It does nothing to stand-out as an amazing genre effort and is predictable at times, but it's easy, it's quick and most importantly, it entertains. That's all I could ask for. Looking for a fun and effortless evening with a horror movie? This is a perfect choice.

Jim H (us) wrote: It works. On all levels. Yes, if you are looking for something that is gripping or crime filled or suspenseful, then you're in the wrong movie theater. But that's a "you problem". This movie truly does give a realistic feel to the differences of small-town and big-city life. And all of the big Hollywood types that are cast do a great job of selling it. The title role caters perfectly to Michael J Fox's style, and he nails it. Julie Warner is the perfect combination of sass, sensuality and emotion, and shows why she should have beat out all of the supposedly big-name actresses the tried out for the role. David Ogden Stiers and Woody Harrelson are absolutely perfect in their "country bumpkin" roles, and a tip of the cap to George Hamilton, who is perfect as the evil city slicker in his limited role. A feel-good movie for the era that would make Capra proud.

Kristin B (kr) wrote: The plot is so weak that it is often hard to guess what will happen next. Uneven and hard to follow. What should be a fun follow up to the original quickly disintegrates into a caricature of itself. While it tries to grapple with the issues of the day: money, corruption, technology, drugs and crime; it fails to make anything more than a superficial commentary. Money, bad. Crime, bad. Movie, bad.

Greg P (br) wrote: Baby fish mouth, baby fish mouth! Rob Reiner at his best. 1989 and 1990 put out some grest movies and When Harry Met Sally is easily one of the best. This film is a must watch romantic comedy. Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan are perfect together and work off one another beautifully. The film is FULL of great lines, the first sentence of this review being one of them. The best compliment I could give this film is sometimes magic comes together and just makes you want to watch a film 10 times. I'll call this the Princess Bride factor. This film is a 10 on the Princess Bride factor. I could go on and on but the simple fact is, just watch the movie. You'll love it or your money back. P.S. The soundtrack is GREAT. Not quite Maximum Overdrive great but darn good. Good watching!

Robert D (nl) wrote: One of my favorite movies.

Ian C (mx) wrote: Great movie for those with a quirky sense of humor and a love of Dickensian art direction. Simon Pegg also gives a superb performance. I don't get how this film has such a low score on rotten tomatoes. People expecting more formulaic Hollywood drivel?

Chris L (ag) wrote: One of those rare movies where the story is so natural and effortless that an ending is almost beside the point. You're so invested in the characters and the choices they make that you're prepared to follow them even to a potential unsatisfying climax (don't fear, though, because the ending is perfect).

Joe S (es) wrote: Silly movie with lots of laugh out loud stupidity and wooden acting by Costner
