Alice B (ag) wrote: This film is full of surprises. The 3D is really different and brings you into the screen. Things are not always popping out which I thought was a strong and classy choice. I love the Christopher Lloyd 3D bubbles on the phone, so cool, have never seen anything like that in 3D before. The super adventures are also super cool in 3D. The script is really funny and concept reminded me of an 80's throw back. The performances are tight and the group worked well together and bounced off each other, which makes the film move quickly. The look of the film is rich in colors and every location is dynamic and the 3D really allows you to explore the background. I love the Occult barn and Seth's apartment. I think this film just felt real, not studio polished just like old films used to feel, no tricks, it reminded me of the Goonies and the original Evil Dead in that sense. More of an adventure comedy then a horror film ,but very entertaining.

Shawn W (jp) wrote: I like this film because I agree that the question is not whether global warming is occurring rather how are we going to try to fix this....this guy presents some interesting solutions...i love the debate and agree that we need to channel more dollars toward researching ideas like these...for it could only take one or two of these ideas to work and it would fix a lot.

Ellen M (mx) wrote: Very interesting to see Superheroes interact, and even fight, one another only to unite, become friends and save the world. Action packed excitment from beginning to end.

Tami W (jp) wrote: I've read the book which is one of my favorites. I knew the movie would have to change a few things around but the book is a lot better. Too many things were changed and the characters as I felt they were in the book were not what I experienced in the movie. The character of Lena wasn't as bold and saucy as she is in the book. The character of Declan didn't have as much charm as in the book. The character of Ms. Odette wasn't all that of a lovable grandma more like a voodoo woman (again not like the book). It's still one of my favorite books but as a movie ... it didn't impress me much. I don't regret I watched it. It could have been a lot better though.

Dane B (es) wrote: I really dig this road flick if you will with dysfunction and regret at the center. I think all the lead roll's are played well and you can tell that every one is trying to get along. a really good story

Paul M (us) wrote: There is something about this that I just like and I am not just talking about Asia. It does seem at bit disjointed at times but overall it is a good, quirky, romantic thriller.

Brian S (br) wrote: a great cinematic showcase of Ionesco's absurd genius. the play is easily one of the weirdest ever written, and this film not only maintains that spirit but also does a nice job making some sense out of it. an ideal reunion for Mostel and Wilder, although neither character is particularly captivating. in fact none of the characters are particularly captivating--it's just a VERY strange absurdist comedy/social commentary. it's enjoyable, but not for any concrete, laugh-out-loud reasons.

Martin T (us) wrote: The tragic twist is fairly predictable, and I found the first half of the film to be a little rough going... occasionally slow and occasionally confusing. Otherwise, a pretty good yarn with another intense Mifune performance. The framing is impeccable, with compositions worthy of Kurosawa or Mizoguchi.

David G (ag) wrote: Not my favorite Mizoguchi, but not bad

Niklas S (ru) wrote: I like these dysfunctial family movies. This one has a great cast and is kinda funny I'll put it net to Running With Scissors in the DVDshelf.
