Luke B (it) wrote: In a world of all that cheesy self-help nonsense, it's so refreshing to see a film that says "It's OK to be pissed off and to wallow in self pity". The film shows a group of disabled people coming together to learn to live and accept their problems. This doesn't quite fly with one of the members of the group and soon the film descends into the world of dark comedy. It's very funny and very human. The film never asks for sympathy of anyone and it shows how a bit of anger can be very therapeutic. Excellent performances and a short script make this a film that gets it's point across without becoming a sermon.

That means clueless Mr. Magoo is in the centre of a perilous predicament he's not even aware of!Pitted against a dangerous, sexy jewel thief (Kelly Lynch) and her dim-witted sidekick, Magoo has only his blind faith in his nephew Waldo and his bulldog Angus to keep him out of harms way. also stars Matt Keeslar, Nick Chinlund, Stephen Tobolowsky, Ernie Hudson, Jennifer Garner, Malcolm McDowall and Miguel Ferrer.directed by Stanley Tong.

It's pretty obvious that Mildred's business acumen and work ethic include sex as part of the exchange of value in negotiating her path to security and wealth. Matter of factness about this seems common to early films about strong women. Good, solid supporting cast. I especially enjoyed the other strong woman in the film, Ida, played by Eve Arden. She added humor while demonstrating that Mildred wasn't an anomaly in this film world.
