This is like a love actually but more cliched (if that was possible) and less subtle (if that was also possible) and less romantic (definitely possible). The writing was pretty poor and despite all that was tried by Will Smith (stand out performance despite the cast), the movie was painfully cringe-worthy. How it all came about at the end was also too make-believe and contrived. I hope another writer takes the concept and implements it better because there is enough there to be taken out of the movie.

Everyone spends the rest of the movie arguing and growing more paranoid about the situation, and there isn't a single likable character among the bunch so you don't give a shit if everyone dies. A few gory moments and some decent performances keep this from being a complete waste of time, but it's still not something I'd recommend unless you like watching duche bags kill each other.

The biggest problem with this movie, and there are many, is the ghoulies. The director never seems to be very interested in bringing them into the story. They just sort of hang out. They're more like set pieces than characters. boo.

Dueling scientists seeking perpetual clean energy in the Earth's magma start a running crack that threatens to destroy the Earth. The romance echoes "When Worlds Collide" and the ending begs for a coda, but this screams for a 21st Century reboot. Highly recommended.

(de) wrote: very surprised by this film. it was suspenseful witch action and some parts that made you laugh but there is also a message I'm this film which alot of movies don't have anymore acting was decent. which is the one of the only flaws I had 3 out of 5 for harsh times

This was really the beginning of the end of the Hellraiser franchise. It bears little similarities to the prior films, both in content and quality, and comes off as a cheap cash grab rather than trying to expand the Hellraiser mythos. The first two films also had a kind of visual elegance to the graphic violence, but this film is merely gory. Besides that, I think my main complaint is that Pinhead looked ridiculous in brightly lit scenes, taking away most of his scary mystique. Disappointing all around and just about as bad as I remembered it.

In summary, this movie is not for every one, but those few capoble of understanding it will enjoy it tremendously.
