I never felt bored and the unmalicious and good natured humour left me feeling more buoyant and soothed than before I'd started. Honestly do not understand the level of negative reaction to this film - some aspects are not exactly unpredictable, but I don't think that takes away from the quality or enjoyability of the film.

Magali G (br) wrote: Oh My God!!!!Ok, I'll try to write a more "professional" review: A sick man who likes filming girls with his camera gets obsessed with one woman and hides cameras in her house, at the same time he stalks her and tries to become her friend. That's it. Now....This is such a bad movie!!! I don't remember why I rated it as "want to see". Maybe because the cover is very well done. It looks like a creepy film, or at least, like thriller. Well, I have news: it's not creepy, it's no thriller, there isn't even a little suspense. The scenes that are suposed to work for that are just not well achieved. The performances are not good. The way in which it's shot is... just ridiculous!!! I mean, it never makes up its mind to decide whether the movie will be shown through a regular filming camera, through the guy's first person camera or through the little ones hidden in the girl's house! And BTW: how many cameras did the guy put there???? that's just incoherent! They seem to be a million!!Anyway, this is just a very bad film. Just that.Oh! and flixster: where do you get the info about movies from? You don't even have the main actress in the cast.

Mayank A (au) wrote: First of 20% of the movie is in Spanish, so as an English speaker I don't even know what's happening. I didn't like it and don't understand the high rating's, maybe it's targeted at a particular segment and they can appreciate it better. The other big stars are in guest appearance roles and basically Javier Bardem carry's the whole movie and does a great job of it but it's a waste and seems pointless as the only thing I got from the movie was that it's about a Gay writer in Cuba - that's it. The only part I enjoyed in the movie was the prison scene which must have been only 10 minutes long, waste of time.

Bryce P (au) wrote: It's a very, very good, but very very depressing movie. Everyone in it brings their +A game. Heh, anytime I see this movie, I picture The Eagles hit "Desperado" as the theme song to this move. It's not, but it's perfect, i think anyways.
jeroen v (br) wrote: Good effort about grief and the feeling of confusion and aggression that follows the unfair taking of a young life. Slightly convoluted editing does not work to the films advantage as it undermines the raw emotions because the audience has to work hard to connect with the characters for the first twenty minutes or so. Great acting and fantastic camerawork. "Things we lost in the Fire", another recent movie with a similar theme, worked better.
Matthew B (jp) wrote: This movie was not funny and not very smart when you think about the story. The humor is so unfunny and really lame that i could make more funny jokes then this movie did, The story is weird and all over the damn place and that's why most of the film slows down by the stupid jokes and terrible story.
