(es) wrote: Its not a film that will grab you if you heard the name as teen films go this is one of the better ones you will see. Bandslam is a funny, dramatic and musical delight. At a time when teen films are by the numbers and forgettable this one ticks every box. This film never was released in the cinema which I find crazy because its a heck of a lot better than all the filthy teen films being released in the cinemas today. This film features a vibrant likable young cast the film is clean and just pure fun. Featuring Lisa Kudrow funny as the main leads Gaelen Connell (Will) mum. Featuring the gorgeous High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens. I enjoyed this film immensely. Please check it out!

(mx) wrote: What were they thinking when they made this movie? There's not enough action in this to make it an action movie, not enough character development to make it a character movie, not enough fun to make it a comedy. It's barely got enough plot to make it a movie at all, but only barely. The dialogues are mostly tedious, the malapropisms are not funny, and the red herrings are fishy.Emily Watson gets a couple of points for cuteness, but cuteness doesn't make a movie. A major disappointment. Alan Rudolph has done much better than this.
(ru) wrote: Alarmingly mainstream for Herzog. One can imagine Paul Newman in the Bruce Spence role, or maybe Jeff Goldblum. It's got some of Herzog's usual fascinations (ethnography, nature, airplanes) but you might not guess it was one of his movies if you didn't know beforehand. Not that there's anything wrong with a director trying to break out of his style, but it's jarring (and somewhat disappointing) to see him tackle such a conventional "message" movie. Kind of ho-hum but it has moments.
(ca) wrote: A stark, bleak downer of a film, centered around a relationship obviously doomed from the start. There really isn't a single bright moment to be found, and Anderson lets every depressing moment play out in harsh realism. Richard Harris is superb in the lead, seething with brutality and frustration like a British Brando. The narrative, told partly in flashback, does occasionally make the chronology confusing.

(ag) wrote: It may not be the best family comedy out there but Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day still benefits from a fine cast including Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner, a decent amount of laughs and some charm near the end of the movie leading to a sporadically amusing though forgettable family-friendly diversion.
(kr) wrote: The leads aren't much but the supporting cast couldn't be better and the film is always a treat to look at. Vastly underrated.
(nl) wrote: Despite the animation style that doesn't play very well with the tone of the story this movie it's the best representation of Superman in the DC animated universe
(ca) wrote: The charm of Anna Faris is enjoyable as always, but this is a romantic comedy movie that doesn't have nothing new to offer to the genre.
