PLOT:A couple goes to a Haitian country to get married, but find out zombies work the land at night and serve a creepy guy named Murder Legendre (Bela Lugosi) who wants the bride for himself! So he hatches a plan to kill her and make her one of his zombies. Will he succeed? Will she be safe? I'll leave you there. The plot's actually kind of dull when you get down to it, and it's not executed as well as it could be. But if it has zombies, it won't be all that bad. ACTING:Pretty good. Lugosi did very well. Madge Bellamy as the bride did a decent job, as well as everybody else. The zombies actually did a brilliant job too. SCORE:Very good. I loved the funeral chant at the opening. OTHER CONTENT:Though it was a little dull, it did have its creepy moments, such as when the zombies are first shown on the hilltop, the closeups of Lugosi's eyes, that vulture, Lugosi's death (NOT A SPOILER), opening funeral, etc. It hasn't aged as well as it should, but it's still pretty good in today's standards. OVERALL,a good horror flick with a dull plot, pretty good acting, very good score, and lots of creepy moments.

Luke G (mx) wrote: While the story and characters aren't anything amazing, the animation is some the best stop motion I have ever seen with creative character designs and an atmospheric old timey Britain setting that makes this film a great time to watch. Even the story isn't all that bad.72/100

Whip-smart dialogue and commanding performances by McKern and the late Edward Judd, who passed away last year. (I've seen this four of five times but today was the first time with the fiery- tinted opening and closing sequences.)
