Facebook U (ag) wrote: I won't deny the film has it's chilling moments, and the final twist is actually pretty cool, but The Haunting of Helena is also stuffed with wooden acting, sloppy pacing, and cheesy CGI that completely dissolve the movie's ability to be emotionally engaging.

samuel c (br) wrote: Meh. stylish but Ill forget details within a couple days. Story just isnt engaging nor the characters anyone you want to invest more than 1 hour and 40 minutes with, if that.

Chris B (ag) wrote: The words cash in jump to mind when discussing this film. It still has a very Low budget vide about it due to it being Disney Channel property rather than a fully fledged Theatre release. The songs are also significantly less memorable which i think detracts a lot from the film. Also at around 2 hours runtime this film just seems to keep going when 80 minutes would have fit much better. Saying this there is still an element of fun to the film and the actors are all obviously very talented (mostly).

This film explores the strained father-son relationship where Harilal not only had to sacrifice his dreams but infact he had to forfeit even his identity and Kasturba was emotionally torn between. The film sincerely digs into all the incidents of Gandhi's family which forced Harilal's family to face many odds with no recognition as being The Father of Nation's son.A must watch movie for all those who are unaware about Gandhi's descendants!

Elliott F (nl) wrote: Not bad...most of it is just so-so, but a few scenes are really good, the not finished letter-reading scene, the final scene was pretty sweet. If nothing else, it's just a good old fashioned WWII all-American war film, a based-on-true events story of Marines fighting the Japanese with everything they had back in probably the most pivotal time in the last century.

Tyler S (ca) wrote: Bateman was really good here. It shows the guy has awesome versitality, starring in movies like this. He can play any type of emotion, serious, menacing, or funny. I thought his performance was right on, but I just thought the plot was silly and really made no sense. I understand how they tried to tie the story together at the end, but I saw that coming a mile away. Bateman is a 40 something adult who enters the national spelling bee, with unknown intentions to the audience. It is funny to see how he interacts with young youths, and finds loopholes to stay in the tournament. That being said, there was not enough here to make this movie a solid recommendation for me. Bateman's versatility isn't enough here to overcome a plot that just didn't do it for me.

Norm d (ag) wrote: Fun picture, & amazing, since it's essentially a true story. Definitely look at the extra matierials to meet the real Abagnale. Surprising A-List supporting cast in a typically crafted Spielberg entertainment. The Williams score has hints in places of Jurassic Park theme styles from a decade earlier along with nice jazz infusions.
