Summer of Giacomo

Summer of Giacomo

A summer day in Italy. The camera follows the deaf-mute Giacomo and a childhood girlfriend Stefi closely – in the woods, by the river – without wanting to disrupt the mystery of their relationship, between restrained sensuality and childhood games.

Kate B (kr) wrote: The best 9/11 programme I have seen, very moving and emotional and not over dramatised as it is filmed as it happened. A must see to get all the real facts to what happened on that awful day.

Chase M (ag) wrote: This is not a good movie. But to its credit, it is a fun movie to watch with your friends.

Stephen E (au) wrote: Safe Men is a quirky little comedy, and even though it unravels rather predictably, I can't say that I wasn't amused. The characters are extreme and eccentric, but they are likable in their own way (if you can get around the nonexistent character depth) and the story is odd enough to attract at least one viewing. But be warned: those who find Napoleon Dynamite to be undesirable should stay away from Safe Men because most of the humor is identical between the two. Nevertheless, I found it very funny. Hell, I even laughed out loud a couple of times.Favorite quote:Bernie: "Chop, do you think you can learn these two where the next safe is?"Chop: "Done and donner."Bernie: "Why can't you just say fucking 'Yes' when I ask you a question?"

Vincent G (br) wrote: Through a glass darkly is the first film of Ingmar bergman's trilogy of God,human condition, loss and hopeless desires (the trilogy never had a tittle like other series or a term put by Bergman, he just called his 'trylogy", the trilogy of god because in all the three films :Through a glass drakly,Winter light and The silence the presence of god is always missing and desire by the characters). If there was a poll about the best performances in world cinema Harriet andersson would be on top of the list, her performance is so compromised, sincere and so moving that it seems she is really beging for God's help, the best performance in cinema history. Bergman's directing, the script, and the very well performances make of this masterpiece one of the most important films that came from europe on the 60's. Long time favorite actor Max von sydow appears in this movie.

Kathleen W (es) wrote: What a concept. And it really delivers until the audience loses hope, which happens too early on. But what a concept to go all-in on.

Andrew O (jp) wrote: Solid and amusing, Talladega Nights is a straightforward and simple comedy that does its own thing and does it well. Ferrel and Cohen are great here.

MF J (mx) wrote: Having not seen the previous film of the franchise, i entered the film neutral of any comparisons.Immediately i enjoyed the film's tone, it's a fairy tale and it happens to contain some characters well known. Apart from that, it's a bit of a mishmash of different universes all combined into one to create an interesting action / adventure film, similar to what was being made in the 80's. I will praise the great amount of natural sets and funny second characters, they bring a certain light-hardheartedness to the film, since Charlyze Theron and Emily blunt go full on for the more baroque array of interpretation with low voices and slow pacing of their lines. Nevertheless, the film manages to have a certain fairy tale-ness that makes it very compelling once you stop comparing it with previous films. As a standalone children/teenagers type of film, it's actually really well done, well shot and filled with an uplifting message. I'm on board.
