Everyone knew it was special, but felt it would not win award do to the film focus on poor white america. But it won the peoples choice surprising many. I have to admitted I almost didn't go after reading the description. Not the most appealing subject but something makes this film troubling and touching, depressing and hopefully human. I glad to see it getting good review, and coverage and would encourage thoughtful film lovers to see it.
Nick A (mx) wrote: The ratings for this one seem to be fairly low, but there's no need for that. It's a movie that delivers its budget, and I have seen a lot worse. The story (regardless of all the overacting) is not too farfetched, the camerawork is good, the pace is consistent. It will go by unnoticed, but it's watchable.
Tuukka P (fr) wrote: A documentary about Lee Atwater who brought the dirty tactics in the GOP campaigns and mentored the modern version of himself Karl Rove. Interesting look at the way campaigns are being run and how they changed with Atwaters tactics. In the end (even though it is quite sad) you'll have to ponder whether it was karma which brought down him.

It is pathetically Jewish, in the worst sense of the term, pure ethnobathos best reserved for the lowest of the lower classes of people who have done much more much better.

Guy L (gb) wrote: I watched this movie back in 2004 or 2005 and I recently watched it again. I liked it back then and it's still not that bad of a movie. I like the story and the movie has it's funny and suspenseful moments. This isn't the kind of movie I'd watch over and over again, but it's still a good watch.

Dan K (de) wrote: I was disappointed in this. At the time I watched it a few years ago, I was a full-fledged "Chomskyite". I was expecting this to be more about the actual process of "manufacturing consent" and other subjects Chomsky has written on, but it was instead largely a biography of Noam, with a bunch of different personalities fawning over him, and the camera just following him around to different lecture sites (at one point you see Chomsky exiting a lecture and getting into the back of an expensive Mercedes to be driven away by a chauffeur - really weird). It did delve into some his ideas, but not in any detail. Disappointing.

Ashley H (jp) wrote: Barry Lyndon is a decent film. It is about an Irish rogue wins the heart of a rich widow and assumes her dead husband's aristocratic position in 18th-century England. Ryan O'Neal and Marisa Bereson give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Stanley Kubrick did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the adventure and drama.
Peter F (ru) wrote: Classic British film is one of the finest coming-of-age films ever made. Ken Loach's unfussy filmmaking is perfect for the film's grounded theme of misspent youth, and allows star David Bradley to deliver what might be the best child performance of his generation. A 60s film thats influence can be felt in recent triumphs such as Rat Catcher and The Kid With the Bike, yet Kes is still a more poetic film than any of it's forebears. For that reason, the film is timeless.

Paul A (au) wrote: wasn't the worst horror movie I've seen, but it definitely was nowhere close to being among one of the best. The storyline was a little bit of a disaster, but the acting was very good, and some scenes were creepy and demonic. Not a horror movie worth watching though the ending, and storyline could of been better.
Derek M (ca) wrote: Without a doubt one of the top 3 most overrated movies I have ever seen, if it wasn't for Daniel Day Lewis' performance this movie would be a 'complete' waste of time rather than just being a waste of time, if u want to bore yourself to death for 2 and a half hour I'd recommend community service and doing something useful with it
