Gavin M (nl) wrote: Disappointing. The acting was pretty good for the most part, but the story was a bit bland. Yes, there were some unique moments in the film (I mean, the main character carves a name into her forehead), but for the most part it was a pretty generic film. I really like Lilly Taylor, but I felt the supporting cast of Sara Rue and John Hawkes really out performed everyone else (including Guy Pearce). I really don't have much to say about this film, it was just pretty bland. Oh yeah, some nice camera work at the beginning, there you go I had something to say.

Joseph A (ru) wrote: THIS is everything the movie wished it could be. I was able to get immersed into the late 70's in San Francisco and know what it was like for the people. While the movie just followed Harvey Milk and pretty much said "this is what he did" and that's all. The documentary shows what was going on and the immense impact he had on the LGBT community. I still find it interesting that Ronald Reagan opposed prop 6 (which means he supported the gay community) while Jimmy Carter just said he opposed it as he was walking off stage after being told by an advisor that it would be wise to say that, although the film barely touches it. Overall this movie has great footage, interviews, and clips from the events surrounding the career and death of Harvey Milk.

That although the film has a good ending, it took way too long to get there with it's meandering! The use of a "Fast- Forward" button is much needed for this film! 2 out of 4
Richard D (us) wrote: This is the first of Kubrick's films where he seems to emerge as the director he will become. The long tracking shots and precise camera moves create the impression of soldiers trapped in an infernal machine whose main function is to destroy them. One of his best films.
Faiudin R (it) wrote: from the poster, i thought that it would be a decent movie. but even the in first 3 minutes of the movie, i realized that this was really poorly made. sub-standard CGI, very lame and cheesy script, i mean, who wrote this? did they actually listened to themselves? even the plot is not consistent, not to mention the outlandish hair on thor, the supposedly mighty god of thunder.i feel cheated as an audience, but even more sorry for the actors who took the role. try harder, yusry.. A LOT harder.

Brett B (kr) wrote: A solid, workmanlike interpretation of the dual trajectories that led Kennedy and Oswald to that fateful day in Dallas. Lowe's a fine JFK, but he's really more of a supporting character in what is pretty much "The Lee Harvey Oswald Show," and that's interesting, as Oswald has never been the focus of a story in this way before; the characterization of Oswald is one of a man dangerously deluded, and the fact that this docudrama comes down squarely on the Oswald-acted-alone stance might rub some of the more conspiracy-minded audience members the wrong way. All said, though, it's a handsome-looking production (produced by Ridley Scott, no less), and it's a fine addition to the Kennedy assassination canon.
