Lee C (jp) wrote: I enjoyed this but felt it was too similar to Kids, not a complete rip off but cold have been more original in places. Great performances from the cast. I would recomend Kids over this.

Steven M (gb) wrote: It's a cheesy story but the twists & turns are awesome. I have watched this movie over a dozen times, still each time I get this warm feeling inside....

Codie E (de) wrote: With the recent Ray and Walk The Line, it's nice to see a biopic that doesn't flick between childhood trauma and current troubles, instead Hal Ashby's film heads straight for linear storytelling and works all the better for it. The performances are all good, particularly the central pairing of David Carradine (who's never been better) and Ronny Cox. But there are problems with the edit here, information is given and then repeated numerous times and brings the needlessly long running time into question. To say this was Ashby's worst film of the seventies it truly goes to show how good the man was.

MF J (jp) wrote: It's a weird concept of a film,a man who lost touch with his folks & reality decides to rent the house he used to live in as a kid and engage the people living in now to be his Christmas family. It's weird but somehow it's entertaining, some jokes are good but Affleck is as wooden as ever...too bad it could have been a better film.

Robert C (es) wrote: A suspenseful, smart, and highly entertaining adaptation of the book.
