The film follows four high school boys: nerd buddies Yong and Jay, selected to represent the school in a science competition; ambitious Best who wants to make the school ping-pong team, knowing a scholarship could ease his family’s financial burden; and Em who, after quitting school and joining vocational college, follows his Korean obsession by becoming the leader of a dance group, and is also trying to win back his ex-girlfriend, Fieng. The four boys, driven by very different reasons, end up praying before the Luang Poo idol at the spirit house near their school, promising to give the idol a Thai dance if their wishes come true. While not all believe in the powers of the sacred spirit, the boys enlist Nut, a transgender professional dancer, to teach them some moves.
Four students have to perform a traditional Thai dance after what they have prayed for at an altar comes true. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

I know that I tend to like a lot of movies that other people don't, but this movie doesn't deserve so much hate. I am however, very partial to cloning movies. I especially loved Robert De Niro in this. A very suspenseful thriller!

(de) wrote: its an intersecting lives movie (if thats a genre) thats dialogue driving and asks interesting questions about chance vs fate vs luck. we need more of these movies, or at least more moves with themes such as this one.

(gb) wrote: Make Way for Tomorrow (1937) is a beautifully-directed (by Leo McCarey) and acted film (Victor Moore and Beulah Bondi), and sadly, is not counted among the truly great American classics. I had never even heard of this movie until last year (2014), when I watched it on TCM. Perhaps it's because of it's tone for most of the film of pity for an elderly married couple's struggles, brought-on by the "great" depression, and their aged condition, that it doesn't receive the attention of 1930's dramas like "Jezebel," or screwball comedies like "Bringing Up Baby." However, it inevitably rises above that pity, with a call of humanity and deep admiration for the love this man and woman have for one-another. The final third of the film grabs you, it doesn't let you go, and that is what makes Make Way for Tomorrow a truly great film.

(jp) wrote: Apart from a few funny scenes, this is a lame romantic comedy that follows five uninteresting couples (some of them really annoying) and has a ridiculous and embarrassing sense of humor involving gases, urine and vomit - which only shows how witless the producers are.
