(nl) wrote: Lame nineties drama about youth that despise their own society, yet act out by becoming the scum of its population. Without any sense of direction and a cast of generally unlikable characters, this film is utterly pointless.

(au) wrote: An exceptionally well-made movie with amazing backdrop of the 1920s Europe and beautifully acted even with somewhat weak story. Music - as well known - one of the best all time.

(it) wrote: The 1st 10 minuets (minus the stupid opening monolog of Arthur Frane) promises to be a real Sci/Fi classic. Then? Director, John Boorman, goes all koo-koo and we're left with 70 more minuets of utter nonsense -with Sean Connery swathed in a onesie diaper.
(us) wrote: i liked this movie the first time i watched it freshman year of college. the second time not so much. and there won't be a third. the two complements i can give this movie are an interesting premise and some cool movie making techniques for a low budget film. the acting is TERRIBLE. so is the dialogue and characters. seriously, i hated all of the characters. they were either annoying, stupid or unrealistic. and it had no substance. it was basically weird just for the sake of being weird (2 viewings)
