Filipe C (us) wrote: More than a good film, Lo and Behold is an important film. Naturally, such a towering subject could have been a subject to ten episodes instead of ten chapters but Herzog's point is to give an overview of our connected world work and, ultimately, stimulate our curiosity and critical thinking. Cinema is always about perspective and Herzog forces its audiences to look at the world in a new light. That's mastery.

Wiebke K (jp) wrote: A beautiful movie -- Whitaker is as always amazing, and Zellweger does a great job being torn between depression and joy of life. The visuals are great and the music is also quite beautiful -- and if Zellweger does her own singing, she has quite the voice.

Cayli L (es) wrote: Kinda tired of the same old story. Person finds fame and turns on all their friends. Everything comes crashing down and they come back to their old friends. Blah, blah, blah!

Matthew H (nl) wrote: Bruce Willis gives a certain awkward performance as the type of character he plays, and the simple premise of the movie soon gets a little drab. But, the high-anxiety action sequences and adrenaline rush a few good scenes provide makes up for the rest of this movie's flaws.

Alejandro R (ag) wrote: I saw this film in theaters when Quentin Tarantino hosted its introduction into the U.S., which helped to cause it to break international box office records (and with good reason). The film is very beautifully stylized to a lavish degree with very well choreographed action sequences and an intriguing storyline that offers a different take on China's period of the warring states about 2,200 years ago just before it became unified as one massive country. This is one of those films that I just had to own! The director Yimou Zhang was best known for his critically-acclaimed dramatic works of the 90s and so "Hero" was his first attempt at an action film. He did an incredible job for his first project of this kind.

Steven G (ag) wrote: Hilariously bad, especially when Faye Dunaway's performance becomes too over-the-top and when the dialogue gets silly, but the story drifts from one melodramatic moment to the next, without a sense of cohesion. It's guaranteed to provoke some laughter, but it has little else going for it.

Bill C (de) wrote: 2-1/2 Stars Best part of the movie is Pluto the slightly Pink dog does not Die. Low budget "Lock stock and two smoking barrels" painted on a "Thelma and Louise" canvas. Well paced and continually involving. Even if you don't like the Violence and the cliche derivative male characters you won't turn it off until the end. Rachel Weisz character "Pentula" is trapped in a violent relationship with the brother of a mobster. Her character of a blonde ditz is so poorly developed, its hard to feel anything for her. Susan Lynch is much more dynamic of a character as Dorothy, the brains of the operation. The movie really turns into flat cliche when her heroine junky boyfriend shows up and shoots her dog. (But he's OK in the end)

Tim E (kr) wrote: An intriguing story of church vs. state, some terrific acting, and a runtime that is unjustifiably too long.

Brian B (jp) wrote: This is a great movie but it's a bit forgettable. Its plot is about a cop who's tired of his job and wants to retire. After he kills a member of a gang, the other members try to get revenge on him and his family. The rest of the film, he has to survive them. The movie has a barren and rundown environment which draws the viewer into it. Mel Gibson did a great performance as a man whose tired of being a cop because he's seen way too many cops die. The movie takes a dark turn at the end and it makes one of the most memorable movie scenes of the decade. Its choice makes it into a cult classic. I do feel that it slowed down a bit at the middle though. In that time, we got to know the characters but I would've rather seen more action. It's still a pretty intriguing movie and it's pretty interesting. Sure the sequel is better but this is still a great movie. Fans of action movies will likely enjoy this movie because it's a great example of its genre.

Narayanan A (br) wrote: 71% - The film has some pacing issues in some parts of the film. But as a whole, Raiders Of The Lost Ark is a decent action-adventure film with solid humor and fine suspense.

Gabriel K (es) wrote: This cross-genre movie tries to blend war adventure, thriller, and supernatural horror. It works more or less, despite some plot elements being borderline absurd. It's quite entertaining, with great visuals and very convincing acting from mostly unknown cast.
