The over-arching theme focuses humanistically on our opportunities and choices to be kind to our fellow human beings, particularly those who are worse off than us. Kiarostami's piece is the least direct but all three conjure up nuanced and realistic portrayals of social interaction.

I really feel like I'm watching someone that doesn't quite know when to stop. I watch the really over the top gore here with minimal plot and I kind of see what leads to 3 hours of "King Kong" and 9 hours of "The Hobbit". It's not that I don't like this film ... it's that I really don't even like the old Peter Jackson anymore.

Peter S (de) wrote: Before I watched this film, I despised Mary Tyler Moore as an actress and a person after watching her in ordinary people (1980). I still hate that movie, but now I like Mary Tyler Moore a lot better. This is the most delightful musical of the 20th century, its only competition are other Julie Andrews and Judy Garland films. Julie Andrews is delightful as always, Mary Tyler Moore is perfectly cast, the other cast members are excellent, and has George Roy Hill ever made a truly bad film? I don't think so. But the best thing about this film, like most musicals, is the music and dancing. It's one hit after another and it's absolutely delightful. Oh yeah, and since it's an older musical, they have an overture before anything actually happens and an enter'acte, which is very rare for movie musicals to have today. This is definitely a must see, an extremely underrated Julie Andrews, movie musical masterpiece!
