From the insane overacting, the plot that wasn't, and the titular character ( a black trenchcoat wearing Blade clone) who appears for about 30 seconds in the entire film, this is 85 minutes of pure horrible. I mean, you can't even make fun of it, it would be like slapping a blind kid. So if you feel the need to cause yourself pain, just drive nails into your forehead. It would be less painful and far more entertaining for those around you than subjecting yourself to this pile of shit.

Per Gunnar J (it) wrote: Given my Scandinavian origin and being a bit of a fan of all kinds of science fiction, fantasy, action and horror movies I of course had to have Dead Snow in my collection. Last Saturday me and my son got around to watch it.Dead Snow is a pretty classical teenage-group-gets-into-big-mess-with-supernatural-beings kind of horror movie. In this particular case a group of teenagers goes for a hike in the Norwegian mountains where they camp in cabin. Not very original of course but what the heck, it is a zombie horror movie so...One thing that makes the movie a bit original is that it is not so totally over the top with foul language and insane consumption of all kinds of drugs as the standard Hollywood crap. These teenagers actually behave fairly normally drinking a few beers and having a good time. Well that is until the mysterious stranger, who is in the movie just to set up the mood, shows up and tells his story about a unusually cruel Nazi officer and his men. Of course we all know where things are going from there...Here the movie starts to follow the usual recipe for these kind of movies. Naturally one of the teenagers needs to take care of some natural needs and separates himself from the rest of the party. Then follows the obligatory boy and girl having sex scene. This time in a old-fashioned Scandinavian "skithus" separated from the actual cabin. Anyone who has ever used one of these (I have and they stink) would know that you have to be pretty horny, drunk or both to have sex in one of those. Anyway, that was one less teenager in the party.Slowly the zombies become more frequent and the dire situation the party is in becomes more and more evident. As the zombies become more frequent so does the gory sequences and eventually the movie turns more into a comedy than a horror movie. I have to say that the Tommy Wirkola have little to learn from his Hollywood counterparts when it comes to horror movie violence. Body parts, external as well as internal, flies around like there was no tomorrow. Which for most of the characters involved is exactly the way it is.On the whole this movie was one part classical horror movie and one part comedy and I found it quite entertaining but you have to be into these kinds of movies to feel that way of course.

Oliver C (ag) wrote: Utter shite drama is teenage love besottedness at its worst, in any language. I watched this movie for about twenty minutes before deciding I'd rather give myself an enema than proceed with the agonizingly predictable scripted sappiness and flat ordinary characters. It was a wise choice.

Rory B (ag) wrote: It handles zombie apocalypse tropes with great comedic tones and satire. Fun cast and pretty funny all around.

Laily f (gb) wrote: ForevermoreLegend has it that the Cordero estate yielded bushels of the sweetest mangoes because they were fed by love. Country lass Marian (Kristine Hermosa) has tended the orchard for years, believing wholeheartedly in the tale, but when the big-shot grandson (Jericho Rosales) of the owner comes from the city with ideas about modernizing and a blatant disregard for the emotional part of the business, Marian's work seems for naught ... until love blooms.

Steve F (de) wrote: I am disturbed that this move rated as high as it did with both groups. it is the only movie that I ever took back to the video store and chewed out the rental clerk for allowing me to rent it.....I am the most laid back guy you will ever meet, but he NEVER should have taken my money, and should have pulled me to the side and encouraged me not to rent it.....I would have listened.....honest... I would have listened.

Valerie M (ag) wrote: I love this movie...especially the scene where both sides end up in the same room to watch the debate and they zoom in alternately on their mouths as they brush hands and whisper to each other in a room full of people and NO ONE hears them plan to sneak out together. :D I just love it. People rarely pay attention.

Daniele C (au) wrote: As critics said: "There's a solid 95-minute movie buried somewhere in here". Such a nice story with such good actors almost sent to waste because of ridiculously long and useless dialogues (especially in the end!). With 1h less it'd have been a much better movie.

Francisca M (jp) wrote: The only good thing about the movie is the dancing. Other than that, it is boring and poorly written and acted. Also, the routine for Nu was not as good as Twitch's crew.

Brett H (es) wrote: Wolfgang Petersen's violent and large-scale adaptation of Homer's, The Iliad, is an entertaining piece of sword-and-sandals popcorn entertainment with an A-list cast, fantastic production values, and amazing fight choreography that will certainly astonish. The film chronicles the Greek assault against the Trojans holed up in the massive city of Troy; as we follow Greece's mightiest warrior, Achilles, played with god-like conviction from Brad Pitt who trained for six months to get the ideal body figure. Also starring is Brian Cox as the ruthless leader, Agamemnon, and Eric Bana as Troy's deadliest fighter, Hector, whose one-on-one battle with Achilles near the end of the film is one of the all-time best sword fights I've ever seen, with the two actors performing their own stunts and choreography. Rounding out the cast; Orlando Bloom and Diane Kruger star as Paris and Helen Of Sparta (eventually Troy) who are secretly having an affair and after eloping together, her vengeful husband, Menelaus, seeks to reclaim her and take down the Trojans for their betrayal. The film isn't entirely accurate in its adaptation of the epic Homer poem, nor actual history, and certain events and fates of characters don't line up, but you can forgive all that as this is clearly a condensed version of what took place. It's a bloody, epic, and highly enjoyable war film that succeeds largely thanks to the solid casting and big-budget thrills and for me, the nearly 3-hour runtime flew by!

Luke W (gb) wrote: Viewers interested in the work of Victor Nunez will want to watch "Ulee's Gold" rather than his earlier films such as "Ruby in Paradise." With this film Nunez builds a better story around Peter Fonda's excellent performance, more so than with Ashley Judd in "Ruby in Paradise." In the latter film, Judd seemed adrift in a story with no other characters of any permanence, but "Ulee's Gold" is more intent on showing the struggle between Fonda's career and his family, two very real aspects of his life from which he cannot escape. It also helps that there is some suspense thrown in, as "Ruby in Paradise" seemed to travel from one scene to the next with little variation, but with this film Nunez has a fully realized story to go along with the character studies that he has perfected in his other films.
