(jp) wrote: I was disappointed, some of the scenes (ie stairway to Ponytails' gang's hideout) were rather stupid, the acting was fairly good though.

It's a low key little thing but it has a lot going for it & even those these guys are drop kicks you can't help but love em'

(mx) wrote: I did not really like anything in this film. I don't think the film gave reasons on why Kinski's character was doing what he was doing. And, especially why people were scared of him. The script was sketchy, most of the film was uninteresting.
(jp) wrote: Just average NASCAR race movie that's more to comedy genre. Burt Reynolds is a top racer and his best friend cum top technician Jim Nabors always stick by him. His nemesis Parker Stevenson crash his car to the wall and cost him to bow out of the race. Burt lose the sponsorship. Ned Beatty is a fried chicken magnate and he sign Burt who needs a sponsor. But Ned made him do many advertising which is embarrassing and Burt has no choice. He like the newly hire assistant Loni Anderson. As love grows, Loni nego with Ned for better deal and didn't work. So she resign and Burt hire her as pit crew. Burt get his pit crew pal to pretend as another company who want to buy over Ned's business. Ned tell Burt on the final race that if he win he will continue to be his racer. But if he lose they will not be partners anymore. Burt wanted to lose the race until Parker make him angry with passion again. Seeing Burt not winning, Ned announce to the press he is terminating contract with Burt. But Burt race to top 2 and eventually win the race. Ned thought he still got a good deal by selling his business but after knowing the fake company buyout, Burt and Jim punch him in the face.

(mx) wrote: This isn't a great movie. Many, including myself, would say that it isn't a good movie. The first 30 minutes are some of the most dreadful I've ever seen. Unnecessary flashbacks, sophomoric philosophical revelations, and cardboard cutout characters are just a few of the treats in store for viewers. But somewhere along the way, Red Planet becomes an interesting, fun to watch sci-fi adventure.
