(es) wrote: This movie was an all round disappointment from the OTT action stunts that if you're over the age of 10 will just roll your eyes at, The acting was pretty bad, The story has been done so many times we can guess what's going to happen next most of the time, Not even Seann William Scotts charm and humour can save this movie, The ending scenes were ok, But the rest of the film is cringe worthy and very forgetful.

(jp) wrote: One of my favorite movies, ever, if you're going to watch a Dennis Hopper movie in remembrance, I say go with Night Tide. All too hard to come by in movies especially, back in the day, like another big favorite of mine, I Know Where I'm Going!, Night Tide is an essentially realist story in which magic works anyway. What could have been a cheapie rip on Val Lewton's themes with a slightly Lovecraftian bent becomes, in Curtis Harrington's hands, a full on old school fairy tale, the bloody original kind, for the age of Dick Tracy. Don't show your daughters the Disney Little Mermaid - show them this mermaid movie. You will not be sorry.
