Jay B (nl) wrote: Most of the visual effects hold up pretty well (besides the bugs, the green screen stuff and a few fire shots), but this nothing-of-a-story is very damn dull.... and the characters are certainly not worth watching.

Shane J (nl) wrote: A film that combines all the worst actors in the world ever and make them fight. billy blanks indeed used to star in movies (he will never reach the heights of the awesome showdown again) he couldnt act but he's pretty handy with his feet and there are some decent action scenes when he's on show as well as jalal merhi. everyone else seems to do every move in slow motion??Its amazing how dated the effects are this prob looked impressive for all of 5 mins of its release. Its a kinda martial arts tron for most parts of this film??

Samantha S (it) wrote: Not up to Bob Fosse's usual standard but a nonfiction tale of a shy Canadian girl who is swept off her feet but a much older man who uses her to attain the success that always eluded him. Sad story. Makes Peter Bogdonavich look a little creepy - after Dorothy Stratten died, he took up with her much younger sister many years later!

Alex W (es) wrote: This film is well directed, acted with really great interesting characters. The problem for me was the story just seemed weak. All three of the main characters are bad people who are just out for themselves. Its lets of a plot an more of a showcase of people to stay away from. Carroll Baker does a great job as the annoying bimbo sexpot "baby doll Meighan", shes knows she's super-hot and is going to punish you all day for it. She makes you the audience feel like her husband (who is considerably older) by being attractive while also acting 14. Archie lee Meighan played by Karl Malden is constantly feuding with her while she berates him for his physical and financial ineptitude. The only character that's barley likeable is Silva Vaccaro played by a young Eli Wallach. Silva is a proud Sicilian immigrant and successful business man who goes after what he wants whether it be wealth or a (almost) 20 year old married blonde. It also must be mentioned that Wallach looks hilariously like an Italian Dustin Hoffman. If there is a fourth lead in this film is the old broken down southern house, used most effectively in a scooby doo-esque haunting scene freighting the gullible baby doll. I never really felt compelled to see what was going to happen next or who was going to win or lose, but it was still well done.

Jens S (jp) wrote: When this film came out it may have looked unrealistic for terrorists to hijack a plane and use it as a weapon against the USA. As we know now that is a pretty terrifying and real scenario, one that even still makes parts of this film hard to stomach. This plot's attempts to stop the catastrophe are nail-biting suspenseful, with quite a few surprises when it comes to the death toll and likable yet unlikely heroes. It's also very cool that this film celebrates a civilian's (Kurt Russell) intelligence as much, if not more, than the strike team's killing skills. Once the survivors drive away into the snow to the sounds of an old tune you know you've seen one of the best Die Hard films without Bruce Willis.
