Sue S (fr) wrote: Very unusual documentary. A man loses his memory after being savagely attacked, and later as a form of both mental and physical therapy builds in his yard this 1/6-scale Belgium town set during WWII, complete with GI Joes and barbies and SS soldiers. It has a church, a bar and there is a GI Joe character that is him and he marries another doll character. He takes pictures of all these dolls doing different things and there are events and he creates stories about everything, with a lot of the main characters based on people he knows. Fascinating.

Stuart K (es) wrote: Clint Eastwood followed up the fourth Dirty Harry film, Sudden Impact (1983), with another cop film, but to distance it's self from Dirty Harry, this has a unique setting, it's very seedy and dark, but it's a good Clint film, and he gets to be a hardass, sorting out bad guys and stuff. Set in New Orleans, this has divorced police detective Wes Block (Clint), investing the deaths of several women around the city, all killed by a serial rapist. One is strangled in her bed, and then a prostitute is murdered. However, Block is no saint, and he normally goes around the seedier regions of New Orleans, Block eventually finds himself working with psychiatrist Beryl Thibodeaux (Genevive Bujold), who runs a rape prevention program, and the two start a relationship together, but the serial killer strikes again, and the killer gets a prostitute that Block had a tryst with. Then the killer starts stalking Block, taunting him with clues and Block moves from one seedy club to another looking for where the killer is going, and then the killer threatens Block's two daughters, and that's too far. It's very violent, and it is closer in tone to Cruising (1980), but Clint has a good, likeable presence, although he's on autopilot in the action scenes. He didn't do many cop films after this one, even though it did well.

Evan J (ca) wrote: Great horror film from beginning to end. The killer is very scary and brutal in the way that he kills victims. He uses a lot of different weapons as well including a gun and a knife and even a trombone at one point in the film. It was very original, and the ending has a crazy twist.

SV G (ru) wrote: William Powell and Clark Gable are two friends who grow up together but live lifes as adults on opposite sides of the law. Between them stands one beautiful woman they both love played by Myrna Loy who marries William Powell who is running for governor. They remain friends with Clark Gable despite his underworld connections until?...the plot thickens. The title says it all - it's very melodramatic even for it's time but still enjoyable. A bit of triva here is this is the film that John Dillenger saw just before he came out of the theater and was gunned down...all because he had it bad for Myrna Loy. ; -)

Julianne S (ru) wrote: Although the movie is quite messy, the rest is okay. It simply could have been better.

Michael B (es) wrote: Though it falls into many cop film cliches, Cop Land is a pleasant surprise for a crime thriller. Shot very well and a well rounded cast help Cop Land rise above the rest.
