Rakesh has borrowed few of the X-men from Hollywood including the Villan could have been little creative there. By the way the villan could have made all the money that he wanted by just sending the Chameleon mutant [Kangana] to disguise as the President of U.S and transferred trillions of dollars to any account instead of wasting all his energy for years in 'inventing' a virus and its antidote and killing people and then selling the drugs to make money -just too tiring.

Interesting indie horror/drama that can be occasionally pretentious; it's at it's best when showing us the streets of Lower Manhattan as seen through the eyes of an incerasingly depserate, one step away from the gutter drunkard.

Jenn M (us) wrote: I actually thought this was a decent scary movie. Most these days are just gory and ate full of shock value but this one is actually intellectually scary as well as scary scary. The story was plausible, it was eerie, suspenseful, without being over the top or even laughable.

Brett H (kr) wrote: The Ones Below is a British thriller revolving around a pregnant couple who receive new downstairs neighbours in their apartment building, who also happen to be pregnant, but after a tragic accident causes them to be at odds, the new neighbours turn out to be more dangerous than friendly. The film's concept clearly owes a debt to past films such as the classic, Rosemary's Baby and the brutally violent French film, Inside, but manages to stand on its own by not focusing on the bloodshed and instead excelling at psychological terror; especially towards the main mother. She is constantly harassed by the neighbours, but it becomes a "Girl Who Cried Wolf" scenario where it becomes her word against theirs and it is used to great effect! The cast contains a few familiar faces, the most notable being David Morrissey from The Walking Dead and Clmence Posy from Harry Potter fame, but it's actually Finnish actress Laura Birn who impressed me most with a layered, and menacing performance. The film is very suspenseful for about 2/3s of the runtime, before the ending becomes a bit too predictable, however, the execution of said ending was well-handled and pretty memorable. It didn't blow my socks off, having borrowed elements from similarly-themed films, but for a first-time director, it's a solid thriller boasting a very capable cast and some great suspense!
