continuing in the trend of dark animated films, felidae has quite a complex and mature plot, with complicated motives and some gruesome imagery, its a well written story, tho the english dubs came off a bit overdone, and some of the dialogue seemed a bit too stagy, still well done and even exciting at times

out of 4. 2. If it wasn't for the small lecture quoted form Abe Lincoln, I can't see this film as being any good since much of the film is very general. The movie then shows the existing problems that arise once joining a group that condones and inflicts physical injury among normal citizens. The story has Humphrey Bogart (unusual role for Bogart)playing blue collar worker and is suddenly drawn to a racist organisation by a co-worker after a higher promotion went to a fellow worker whose speaking with a foreign accent. Thursday, June 14, 2012 (1937) Black Legion DRAMA/ SOCIAL COMMENTARY More revelent back in the 30's and strictly by the book depicting a particular time in history about a racist organisation called "The Black Legion" the other KKK with the only difference is that they don't expose themselves to open public whenever they commit illegal amoral acts

The decision to merge reality and her dreamworld is an intelligent one as well, and makes for one of the best portrayals of the almost precognitive nature of dreams I've ever seen. Buuel doesn't single out these desires as natural so much as he makes clear that they are learned, decidedly unnatural. Men want children or sex dolls or subservient slaves that they can abuse and control; Sverine wants to be abused. Her life at the brothel is an independent entity that satisfies that need, her clients revealing quite a bit about what Buuel is trying to say about what men and woman have been taught to want. Though she lives a relatively perfect, upperclass life, she wants something else sexually, something indicative of the ways in which society teaches men and women how to behave and how to perceive each other. Buuel attributes Sverine's subconscious desires to her upbringing and the rigid social mores cultivated by religious institutions. Though not as dreamlike as one might expect coming from someone like Buuel, Belle de Jour is a deeply intelligent, deliberately bizarre look at sexual repression and class structures

Somewhat predictable story but great music!

I will have to give it another chance, eventually. I believe that this was somewhat of a box office success but it just can't/couldn't live up to his previous successes such as Duel, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind or The Sugarland Express. Which is mainly what it is. Perhaps the reason that I didn't like it was I was not thinking it was going to be so much of a slapstick comedy. Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale, John Milus, allegedly Brian DaPalma (uncredited) and of course the director Steven Spielberg. Which is surprising, considering all of the great directors the were behind the scenes of this one. It is the first and only movie to be directed by Steven Spielberg that I didn't like, so far anyway. This really was not my kind of movie
