The Babe

"The Babe" chronicles Ruth's phenomenal story--from his hard knock beginnings at a Baltimore orphanage, to his meteoric rise to baseball superstardom and his poignant retirement from the game. His amazing career included seven American League pennants, four World Series championships, two tempestuous marriages and a wild lifestyle that earned him numerous suspensions.

Babe Ruth becomes a baseball legend but is unheroic to those who know him. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Joetaeb D (es) wrote: The Devil inside fails to make anything scary for the buffs nor of the interest of average filmgoers. And worse yet, offers an intelligence insulting ending that reminds everybody involved and not involved in movie making how NOT to make a conclusion

The V (br) wrote: This was a fun variation on The Wicker Man theme. Like it says in the synopsis, four guys go on a team building exercise in the English countryside only to come across the Gravehills farm where the three Tanner sisters live. They are not your garden variety of sisters since they seem to be from another decade due to their clothing and old ways. These sisters harbor a deep dark secret. One that spans nearly 300 years. A long time ago their mother was hanged for witchcraft and they were taken care of by their father who would molest them. They put a stop to it, but not in the nick of time since he was able to curse them just before his ultimate demise. They make him out to be the scarecrow for the farm since do to being cursed his body will not lay within the Earth. So, the sisters resurrect their father who promises them that their souls will not perish in hell unless they're able to acquire five souls. Hence the four guys, but the lack of mathematical skills didn't sway me from the proceedings of the story. (A bartender becomes the fifth guy anyway.)I was surprised by how good this was in it's creative means of trying something a little different in the witchcraft genre. The direction is stylistic and the substance of it's gory story did well to manage a fun viewing.

Mera L (ag) wrote: Everything about this movie makes me angry. It is devastating and sad and so raw.

Yash S (us) wrote: This little-known film has some explosive comedy, thanks to the hammer-on-the-nail chemistry between Bette Middler and Dennis Farina. Each of their scenes together is a comic symphony. The two of them absolutely fly with their parts in an otherwise underwritten and okay-ish piece. Absolutely no brains required, so perfect for a date-night rental....

Martin T (ru) wrote: This is not a particularly original film. It's from a novel, previously adapted as They Live By Night. It's clearly influenced by Bonnie and Clyde. And it's awfully predictable. But I enjoyed it anyway, primarily due to Shelley Duvall... for my money, one of the most underrated actresses of all time. I thought Altman's use of the radio was interesting and preferable to a traditional soundtrack or score, but occasionally got a little too clever for its own good.

Dan L (ca) wrote: Solid. I love Jenny Slate and she's as charming and funny as ever here. The movie broaches a controversial topic, abortion, but the plot works really well and the writing isn't overly moralistic or prescriptive. My only complaint about the movie is the lack of chemistry between the leads. I think this movie had more potential as a screenplay than it's given credit for here. It's not the male lead's fault. I liked him and I would see him in another movie, but he and Jenny weren't clicking on screen the way you want in a romantic comedy.

Conrad T (ru) wrote: Turned out that the story is different, refreshing with intrigued ideas and plots.

Kelly C (de) wrote: It was funny then and it's still funny now. Just a classic comedy!

Noname (br) wrote: Great movie with Hugh Jackman but i have get used to him as Wolferine lately but he does a fine job here. Not much comedy tho i thought and more drama/romance.
