The acting is nothing realistic, I later read that a lot of the facts are unrealistic but I still enjoyed watching this film just for a reminder of the odd life Michael Jackson led. There is no music in this movie - they didn't have the rights to any original Jackson music. The characters didn't look much like who they were playing (Elizabeth Taylor looked about 20 years younger than she really did at the time) but the trip to Neverland was interesting to watch even if done in a low budget poorly filmed movie.

Steph S (au) wrote: This is an amazing film. I was so moved by the whole situation that took place in the prison. every story about each prisioner was moving and the ending was really sad. The fact that is was based on a true story made the movie so much better and just the feeling you get from the film is heartfelt.

Alexander C (es) wrote: This i felt was a very clever movie with flair and colour. A classic novel becomes a classic movie with delectable reese witherspoon in the lead role. Magical film with funny bits and a loving core at its sweet centre.

Katie B (kr) wrote: The movie is definitely for hardcore Tarantino fans. It's deep crime and violence all combines into a story of carelessness and hatred about criminals. The movie is enjoyable due to the occasional humour and the characteristics of each of the characters. In other Tarantino films we see relatives of these 'Reservoir Dogs' so the move is relevant to the whole Tarantino series.

So what is the alternative other than the legend that is Fred Williamson and his co-workers. Once again one has to ask why has a quality actor such as Robert Forster spent his career staring in B movies?

David L (ag) wrote: Not really a Christmas film in content, but it's fun for all the family plot gives it a somewhat festive feel to it. Everything about it screams Indiana Jones, but just not as good. It's like the film was produced by an understudy of Spielberg, and even Nicholas Cage doesn't have the Harrison Ford swagger about him. People aside though, this is very watchable and something for the young adventurer to get their teeth into, a treasure hunt with ridiculously hard clues that don't make any sense to you and I, but yet still provide a captivating watch as the heroes try to remain in front of the villains every step of the way. Who doesn't love a good fantasy but you can't help but feel this missed a trick when you refer to how well received the likes of the Goonies was as well. Maybe this is trying to be too clever, and over complicating things when a more juvenile touch would have been preferred. Sean Bean provides a decent enough enemy but the plot twist with Cage going from friend to foe at the beginning was very reminiscent of the Golden Eye moment in the James Bond series, giving this an even more copycat script feel. Despite all this, I did enjoy it, but with the components at its disposal, I think it could have made more and would probably be considered a flop should it have spent big in its budget. National Treasure by name, but this certainly won't be a national treasure in nature.
