The follow-up to 2010's Piranha attracts a whole bunch of negative adjectives: smutty, crass, gross, incoherent, incompetent, etc. As horror, it fails to generate any level of tension, at best delivering some squirms of disgust here and there. As a comedy, it lacks any sense of timing, and the intended jokes are sub-puerile. Not much to sustain a plot either - prehistoric Piranha in water park - with the film's narrative over by the 70th minute. Only dubious positive: David Hasselhoff's painfully self-deprecating appearance as himself, in Baywatch attire, and the nearly ten minutes of outtakes, best of which involve Hasselhoff redefining cringe worthy to mean mesmerizing.

Ida P (au) wrote: Could have been better. This was basically like a long episode. Not even movie worthy at all. There was hardly any chemistry between any of the actors. They only scratched the surface of the animated characters. A LOT of awkward moments. Nice graphics, but total fail. Should've been a different story line.

Natalie T (nl) wrote: I liked that it wasn't a typical horror movie but Tori Spelling just kind of ruined everything. It looks good on paper but it just wasn't very entertaining or interesting.

Johnny R (ca) wrote: Fantastic movie!! It was intense, engaging, and had great race scenes!! It will keep you wondering what will happen next!! The cast was terrific, especially Toby Maguire!! This is a must see!!

Hossein N (kr) wrote: Mar 2011 - Pretty shallow romantic comedy. The characters are exaggerated in an unpleasant way and I found the view of the romance and the role east was playing a bit insulting.

Giorgio P (br) wrote: Towards the end I lost interest because the action does get disorientating. But what held this movie up was Rambo being so bad ass and the action being really impressive. It must have taken a lot of effort doing all those explosions and helicopter shots.

RJ M (us) wrote: Now THIS is what I'm talking about. THIS is how you do a spoof. Unlike today, where "spoof" movies copy shots from popular movies and attempt to make a joke of them, this movie spoofs an entire genre by honoring it. Don Knotts and Tim Conway were a great comedy duo. Knotts was forever the straight man, and Conway is one of the great improvisational comedians the world has ever known. Here they play two bumbling detectives investigating the murders of a rich English couple. We get the usual motley collection of suspects, the creepy castle setting, secret passages, trap doors, and a mysterious, shadowy figure who may or may not be responsible for everything happening. Not only is the movie funny, but it also provides a genuine mystery. The setting is fantastic, the characters are interesting, and the two lead actors are at the top of their games.

Lenny R (nl) wrote: Not entirely godawful, though definitely not entirely...not godawful. Peter Berg has somewhat more intelligence as a director than Michael Bay, but this is still a very overblown, Bay-ish effort. I found it a bit odd that the two all-American brothers are played by an obvious-accented Canadian and an even-more-obvious-accented Swede, but less odd than the fact that Rihanna didn't annoy me at all. The very idea that this movie is 'based on' the game (and that Hasbro is now apparently a film production company) annoys and infuriates me, but, while this is not grade-A cinema by any stretch of the imagination, it's not a total bust, either. So, in Battleship terms, I suppose it's a miss, but a surprisingly near one.

Calvin C (au) wrote: A comedy director who decides to make a drama about the current social situation, but the studio won't back him. So, he decides to live amongst the struggling poor to gain experience and show the studio he is serious. The stunt goes public, but things don't go as plan as certain random events puts Sullivan experiencing how it is really like to be poor in America. Veronica Lake plays a struggling actress in which Sullivan meets during his odyssey. She is beautiful and cute and steals the show. This is a great satire on the movie industry and the current status of America at that time. It's ironic that Sullivan thinks a drama is what moviegoers want to see, only to learn that in times like these, comedy is always the best medicine. Grade: A-
