Eric N (us) wrote: What a cast! It's a priveledge to see legend Xin Xin Xiong. Ken Lo as well. Strange to see Anthony Wong in a martial arts battle against Eric Tsang! Seeing as how a few of these guys are among the best actors in Asia, the right thing to do would be to make this as epic of a drama as possible, but it under utilizes them. In fact, although the Donnie Yen ones are over-the-top traditional Hong Kong action fests with the expected cheesy moments, at least they are achieving what they're going for. "A Legend Is Born" and "Final Fight" both seem to be unsure what the point of their movies are, though they are filmed quite beautifully. This plot is a complete mess, and we don't come to know the characters quite enough to care, and there is no arc for really any of them except that some of the good guys become unlikeable for stupid reasons. Anthony Wong improves any movie, and this time he kicked ass physically more than emotionally, but that plus a sweet fight at the end isn't enough to say this movie is all that good on its own. A full star is given because we get to see Anthony Wong for a whole movie. Without him, it would be mediocre indeed.

Dan M (de) wrote: Probably the most ho-hum Sam Jackson movie I've ever seen. Some elements from Oldboy borrowed here(oddly enough another one of his movies, the remake anyways) with a very predictable outcome. This was an hour and a half long but felt more like 2 hours. Snooze.

The New World Order is rising, after a boating accident leaves the Prime Minister of Canada dead, and his son's outpouring of emotion leads him to take up his father's office. As Federal Investigator Leah Collins looks into the accident, the new Prime Minister prepares to sign a deal to sell Canada's most precious resource, water, to the Americans. As Collins investigation reveals darker and darker secrets a shadowy cabal strikes at the nations stress points...leading to a terrifing endgame. Paul Gross has created a must see movie for all Canadians.

Dany J (es) wrote: It illustrates very well what really happening in the business of soccer in Mexico. Funny at times but I did not like the movie as a whole.

Frederik C (fr) wrote: It's premise is inviting, but I lost connection with the characters after a while. Their situation & relationship are so alien that it's hard not to. Still, I enjoyed the performance and wanted to see where it would end up.

Caesar B (au) wrote: Under-rated combination of early Tarantino and latter-day Robert Altman, with satisfying results. The premise: a few days in the San Fernando Valley where cops, crooks, failed writers and innocent civilians mingle with one another during various plotlines that all become intertwined. The writing is clever, the performances on point, and the Hollywood satirical undertones are a near-perfect companion to the overall feel of this spontaneous gem.

Jason S (ca) wrote: This is good. The story deals with a lot of characters but doesn't feel full or rushed. All of the characters are normal people and you can see why they are in the positions they are in. I liked seeing the journey of these people and the end was nice to see.

Javier F (fr) wrote: La excepcional actuacin de Rita Hayworth est a la altura de este imperfecto e irregular pero potente, atrevido, bello y entretenido melodrama posguerra que merece con honores el ttulo de clsico.

Stuart P (mx) wrote: Keitel bares all, body and soul, in this uncompromising picture. It's a tough watch, plotless and meandering, but Keitel brings it a depth and energy that makes it worth watching.

Joel B (ca) wrote: More Jason, this time in the future and outer space. Seriously?
