Amilcar A (br) wrote: The beauty about this movie is based on two simple things. First, every character is superbly real. It almost seems like the the cast was made up with family members and a long time friend. Second, the premise is very simple which makes all the details all the more subtle and important.Gianni is 50 something Roman that lives with his mom and seemingly does nothing other than cook for her and read Alexander Dumas' novels - where he can't seem to get past the first 10 pages. He has all kinds of debts, past bills and no real interest in doing anything about it. He is about to get sued by the rest of the tenants in his building when the administrator makes him an offer. Take his mom for a few days and he'll do away with some of the past due payments. When mom comes however, she's not alone. She comes with Tia Maria, an octogenarian with some mental issues. Before we know it Gianni is caring for 3 old ladies but that's not it. His doctor friend also drops his mom and hilarity ensues.Gianni and his friend Vikingo have to scooter around Rome to get fish, cook dinner and deal with 4 old and terribly bored ladies that end up paying him to keep them around.Silly, innocent and very funny. Great movie.

Robert B (ru) wrote: As a long time Trekkie ( I think the term Trekker is stupidist term of denial in any fandom)I've wanted to see these films. As a documentary part 2 rambles all over the place and the 1st half seems like a yearbook/ family home video of overweight Star Trek fans, then if you've made it through 45 minutes of that it gets interesting: 1) how STar Trek actually touched and changed people's lives in very positive ways as Cosby & crew goto war torn Serbia and I find folks who could escape into Trek's perfect human future to renew thier own hope in thier lives and cool side benefit the European fans are not only thinner in general but the chick fans are hot! 2) Back in the good ole' USA in Sacramento there are some really cool punk/rock Star Trek bands with bizarre names like No Kill I, Stolvokor and Warp 11. Seeing people create Trek sets in thier garage with overweight friends these days isn't that special. Seems like a pre-requiste to be a Trekkie. If there is one subtle underlying message from this flick is the American fans really need to stop watching every episode and get thier collective butts outside and assimilate with the human race. Live Long and Peace out.

Feanor C (ru) wrote: Just watched this fiasco; everybody played their parts very well especially Nolte and Finney and Willis played the nut job well enough but I don't think any Kurt Vonnegut fan is going to like this film.

Umit S (au) wrote: Firstly this movie could see like a boring drama but it's not. Why ? Because it involves you. The subject is very good and acting is very realistic and impressive especially the white mother's. You can see and understand the love between a mother and son in this movie. ALLAH (The God) created a very powerful instinct inside mothers' hearts. I saw this instinct in this movie so I really liked and affected me much. This movie can make you cry, don't go after fake love with selfish people, love is very near of you : devoted and faithful mothers of us and their love to children but never forget only the true love is for and from ALLAH.

Russell H (de) wrote: Very funny if you watched the series. makes fun of it quite well and includes lots of cameos.

Nathan M (mx) wrote: All the horror of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" without the fictional relief. The fact that the conditions shown are milder in manner makes them all the more disturbing.

Greg S (gb) wrote: I must admire that I'm generally a big fan of early Soviet movies. The excellency of timless productions of Eisenstein, Pudovkin or even other movies by Dovzhenko is never overshadowed by soviet propaganda. Unfortunatelly, in this case you find virtually nothing but communistic pathos.
