Dave M (es) wrote: The romantic comedy "Baggage Claim" (PG-13, 1:36) is the entertaining story of a single 30-something woman looking for Mr. Right and dealing with serious pressure from her family to find him - right now.Montana Moore (Paula Patton) is a flight attendant who wants to settle down, but her search for a husband has been impeded by the demands of her job, her high standards, and the occasional two-timing boyfriend. When Montana's younger sister announces her engagement, Mo feels the pressure, especially from her mother (Jenifer Lewis). Mo's well-meaning co-workers and friends (Jill Scott and Adam Brody) hatch a plan to use their airport contacts to let Montana know when one of her old boyfriends is flying somewhere (since "everyone flies during the holidays") and get Mo on the flight for a not-so-chance encounter. After all, one of her exes may have blossomed into the man she's looking for.Mo has 30-days to find a great date -slash- potential mate to take to her sister's rehearsal dinner - to satisfy her own goals, and to get her mother off her back. Mo's 30,000 mile odyssey leads her to encounters with former suitors played by, among others, Taye Diggs, Boris Kodjoe, Trey Songz and past Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou. All the while, Mo's childhood friend (Derek Luke), who lives in the apartment across the hall, is there to encourage Mo and just be a friend when she needs one.The story's path may be predictable, but the journey is still pretty enjoyable. The major characters are charming and funny - especially Mo (although Patton does have a tendency to overact at times). There are a number of laugh-out-loud moments and the movie has some important things to say about family, friends, life and love. What's "B" stand for? "Baggage Claim", that's what.

Its storyline brings it all down, otherwise it could have been a well-made film, but it completely fails to deliver! Nothing Special - Watch it at your own risk... Verdict = Below Average
Justin G (it) wrote: This was okay. Steve Zahns role as the washed up former minor league ballplayer now coaching the junior college baseball team is pretty funny at times. My question just how long is the volleyball season in junior college? the season seemed to be going on forever! Okay story and plot. Calvin tries but yes he might just be the worst baseball player of all time. Though slow pitch softball he just might be a star. I wouldn't recommend but if you have time to waste this movie is watchable.

Even when several things make no sense, including the mountain of anachronisms taking place in a movie from 1978, it is worth watching, including for the final 15-20 minutes of satisfaction, especially if you're a die-hard KISS fan.
Phil H (es) wrote: Perfect casting as Jack Lemon and James Garner play American ex-Presidents in quite a believable way in both terms of looks and attitude. A brilliant team up with both actors being on top form with witty dialog and some great one two's as they bicker and fight across the Southern Appalachians trying to get their evidence of a conspiracy back to the current President. The film is really quite underrated and plays out so well with the two leads having superb timing and really nailing their moments with good old fashioned classic comedy. The plot isn't too complex, it looks really good with some great looking sets (I presume) of the White House, Airforce One plus some nice location work as the two stars bumble through nature. Was meant to be a Lemon and Matthau double team flick but to be honest I think this duo works better as Garner really fit the role so well, highly recommended :)

Jeffrey M (de) wrote: I like this film, it has some interesting moments and the film has a great cast. A psychopath is at large, stalking and murdering strippers. A former boxer is now a P.I. investigating the murders. A great suspence thriller from 1984.

Alana K (it) wrote: sometimes con-men can be downright disgusting. I mean, who can really feel satisfied with themselves after cheating the poor out of what little they have? two of the three con-men were just rotten people anyway, but the third, happy-go-lucky fellow ... well, I had much more faith in his ability to see the light and do the right thing, and he just let me down time and time again.
