David J (ca) wrote: In the creepy locales of Staten Island is believed to be buried the bodies of several children that were allegedly kidnapped throughout '70's and '80's. While the directors of "Cropsey," Barbara Brancaccio and Joshua Zeman, to both their and our frustration, never find the victims or convince Andre Rand, the main suspect, to speak to them, they do learn, in trying to distinguish fact from folklore, that humankind is quick to obscure a story and sway the minds of others without providing the necessary evidence. That is terrifying.
Leena L (fr) wrote: I like the controversial and weird roles that Charlize Theron chooses. Just like in so many roles before, she is brilliant, as is the rest of the cast but this film goes in the category of bad family relationships, crap life but happy ending for some in a way.

Byron H (nl) wrote: I didn't care much for the music. Also, the movie failed to bring about any kind of emotion in me. And, I did not agree with some of the philosophies that the freedom fighters used, so I was hard pressed to celebrate their victory.
Robert (fr) wrote: All I can say is that the movie is a feast for the eyes but lacks any real nutritional value. For die-hard fans of the franchise... actually, for die-hard fans, I recommend finding the original short standalone films in their uncut entirety.
William R (jp) wrote: I watched it late at night one night. It was a little over the top with the "future" stuff. The ideas were good, and for a late night movie on Scifi, it wasn't bad.

Stuart K (br) wrote: In 1955, Hammer Films had a huge box-office success with their adaptation of the BBC's 1953 serial, The Quatermass Xperiment. This sci-fi thriller, scripted by future Hammer veteran Jimmy Sangster, originally started life as a sequel to Quatermass. However, it's creator Nigel Kneale said no, so Hammer made it a film in it's own right, and it's a very good thriller, with a good cast to boot too. During an army training exercise in a remote part of western Scotland, a large earthquake occurs where soldiers involved in the exercise, including Private Lansing (Kenneth Cope) are exposed and injured by radiation exposure. Dr. Royston (Dean Jagger), who works at the nearby Atomic Energy Laboratory, is called in with Inspector McGill (Edward Chapman), to investigate this, and why it happened. But, when villagers in nearby communities to where it happened start dying of radiation poisoning, Royston and McGill deduct that the force is some prehistoric lifeforce which predates man, and has been trying to get to Earth's surface. It's a very good thriller, and it has a good cast of faces from film and TV of that time and later. It was directed by Leslie Norman, (Barry's Dad), who replaced Joseph Losey, who had ran away from the Communist Witch-hunts of America. As a result, it was a difficult production, but it manages to be exciting to watch.
