Often a film reuniting excessive acting talent (DiCaprio, Winslett, Bates) fails due to the clashing of personalities at a high level; in this case the casting is superb, with brilliant performances also by David Harbour and Michael Shannon. This is the second time I've seen it, it only gets better.

Lauren S (gb) wrote: Not the best con movie ever, but still pretty good. The sleight of hand in this movie was very real and very awesome.

AN N (mx) wrote: I really wanted to like this movie. But sadly there is nothing to like. Despite having two of my favorite actors - there is no chemistry. The story falls completely flat and doesn't make sense. I am not a lawyer and yet I am pretty sure that the movie was way out to lunch on almost everything - which just made the whole movie not very believable and trivial. Too bad ... a movie with great potential ... but terribly executed ... and a waste of time really.

Jake Z (au) wrote: A lightening in a bottle master acting performance from Bjork. Though knowing the hell Lars Von Trier had put her through, who knows as to how much of it was acting. Dancer in the Dark is a visionary, ultra-depressing, perhaps even nihilistic, anti-musical. And as challenging as it is, it's unique, powerful, unforgettable stuff. You'll be repeating to yourself, perhaps more than once, that it's "only a movie."

Brandon V (br) wrote: It largely condenses its satire into silly comedic set pieces, but thanks to James Garner the jokes fly with ease.
