Matt M (au) wrote: It feels more like a fashion statement than a serious political satire. It also feels a lot more like pornography than actual filmmaking, not only because of the too many lengthy sex scenes but also because it shares a lot of many of the flaws of that genre. Still, this over stylised and over indulgent mess actually shows serious potential as an underground masterpiece before LaBruce's eccentricities become tedious and the charge of the film wanes as it progresses.

Codie E (es) wrote: Films like this with the lack of budget and first time filmmaker can often seem so amateur but this completely transcends this with charm and obvious talent. Hilary Birmingham has cast a dedicated bunch of performers and has handled the material gracefully to create a piece of work that really affects. Reminisant, in hindsight, of David Gordon Green.

Grant S (mx) wrote: Not good, but not as bad as it is made out to be. Plot is thin, but the behind-the-scenes look at a Broadway dance show is interesting. Far too much time is spent on the actual show though, making you think that the whole movie may as well have been one big recording of a dance show.Music is kind of cheesy, specially the music in the Broadway production.Acting is so-so. Cynthia Rhodes gives probably the only convincing performance. John Travolta is his usual one-dimensional self and Finola Hughes is irritating.

The storyline is hardly first rate, and a times, the film is too violent to be considered a children's movie. It is the visuals and special effects that make this film somewhat memorable.
