The Catacombs

The Catacombs

The title refers to the office of records in the basement of a large company... sort of the place where a troublesome employee may be dumped in a dead end job. If fact, the story is a simple romantic comedy, with Burian as the kindly old stick-in-the-mud who helps the young man to sort out his romance with the daughter of the company's owner.

The Catacombs torrent reviews

Cristina M (es) wrote: The Hawkins brothers truly captured the dead-end life in a small town. The contrast between the two teens with bright futures and the one teen going nowhere was engaging. The real interest begins when the two with bright futures get dragged into the black hole created by the other. The twists and turns along the way kept me on my toes. A must see!

Andrew S (mx) wrote: It's what you would expect from a Canadian made, straight to video western. It's quite slow at the beginning but eventually draws you in. One of the few notable aspects of this movie was Locklyn Munro's convincing performance. I am hesitant to recommend this one. Not worth the price of a rental.

Matthias S (it) wrote: This movie is seriously underrated. It keeps deceiving you until the fianl stretch, and by then there's nothing you can do but watch the tragedy unfold. An emotional roller coaster with wonderful, powerful acting.

Dottie P (au) wrote: Fun idea and plenty of well-endowed (talent-wise, I mean, of course) supporting players, but insufficiently executed to make this no better than a present-day National Lampoon wannabe. (Warren Cole could be the next Brad Pitt, though, so watch out.)

Grant T (au) wrote: The single problem I had with this movie was that they don't have one of those 'here's what happened after this' quote things at the end. Everything else about this movie was perfection. Again, I love true stories.

Zachary L (fr) wrote: In My Sleep relies more on Winchester's body than it does his acting prowess, which obviously isn't much after witnessing this drab and pointlessly elongated attempt at horror. But if you somehow manage to withstand the tragically slow pace, you'll find there is some real intrigue and interesting concepts within the script, but good luck getting that far.

Blerim N (kr) wrote: Great story about a father and a son trying to find common ground together and trust between them both. Very emotional, for me anyway, and a good watch.

Shane D (de) wrote: For a late-90's thriller about modern technology with all it's fancy "modems" and "hacks" this isn't too bad. Mainly due to the combined charm of Will Smith and one of Hackman's last decent nutty performances. Otherwise, reasonably forgettable amid a very well worn sub-genre of films from the 90s. Luddite's rejoice!

Dia T (fr) wrote: Typical 'wrong girl gets in the right place' and somewhat sweet kind of movie..

Orlok W (ag) wrote: Bleak Film About Paranoia--An unconventional film, as schizophrenic in style, as its main character!!

Daniel T (it) wrote: Definitely a great movie that talks about Scouting. Also show a Scoutmaster who is willing to sacrifice so much to lead a group of boys on their path of greatness and adulthood.

Sophie (it) wrote: Another moving film.

Andrew C D (us) wrote: Extremely entertaining when ever James Baskett is acting, singing, or playing a cartoon character, but the moment he's not around the movie slips in to utter and unbearable boredom. The movie is only saved by Baskett's incredible acting ability. It's a pity he didn't live long enough to do a few more projects.

Robin P (us) wrote: Very depressing stuff...Vivien Leigh mistakenly believes her fiance' was killed in battle and chooses a life of prostitution to survive in difficult times. Still a pretty good movie.

Alice S (ca) wrote: So freakin' likable. A bumbling bachelor falls in love with a woman with short-term memory loss, so he must remind her of their relationship every day. The reveals of Lucy's dad and brother painstakingly recreating the day of her accident and Lucy painting Henry's face from her dreams despite not remembering him are quite touching.

Matt G (kr) wrote: If film is a language, then Spielberg is fluent in it. He shoots this story of a slavery uprising and the concurrent reactions to it with such harrowing beauty it?s amazing, and he gets astounding performances all around, especially from Hounsou. Nonetheless, his pious sentimentality and inability to bring the courtroom drama segments past the level of dull keeps this from being more than just okay.

Ayu F (au) wrote: the story is cliche, but it's still a fun one. Jen is just SO pretty! :")
