Cokeville Wyoming, a town of just over 500 people that sits near the Utah-Idaho border, is not known for much beyond it's strong family values, but in 1986 Cokeville made national headlines when a madman and his wife entered the elementary school with guns and bomb. They gathered over 100 children and teachers into a small room, and made a demand: $200 million dollars for the lives of the children-but then the bomb went off... In the wake of the madness, Ron Hartley, whose children were inside the classroom, must fight his skepticism and unbelief as he hears eye witness accounts from the students of miraculous, heavenly intervention during the crisis. Angiee D (de) wrote: OPINION :One thing i like about the movie Freedom Writers is that it is a really good movie. It has attention and emotional scene I dislike how they blamed a African American for a shooting and he didn't do.SUMMARY :The movie is about high school freshmen who are in this English class for the first time and most don't really get along because of gang and race relations. A teacher really tries to teach the students. She takes them to field trips and buy them things and the students actually want to learn.ACTING: The main character was the actress Hillary Swank. She very believably portrayed a teacher. Patrick Dempsey plays Mrs. Gruwell's husband. He was a good husband but then started to change when his wife became a teacher. .April played Eva Benitez, a Latina girl who's going through a tough time.CINEMATOGRAPHY : :The story of Freedom Writers was successful because it was shot nicely in California at a high school They really got every angle and scene good like where like the Mexican cholo guys try to shoot the African American men but shoots this asian guy on accident. Music: I would like to describe the music as a hype type of music that makes people have energy. My opinion about the music is yes i like the type of music they have in the movie because I listen to that type of music sometimes.

Catinca C (fr) wrote: Barely believable love story; the rest is just fine - the plot is entertaining, the characters are as believable as possible in a romantic chick-wedding-flick, but I just did not buy into the growing love of these people. Neeeh
Hank H (it) wrote: This is one of the ultimate backstage musicals. The sweeping camera angles, the magnificent music numbers, and the dancing make this film a trendsetter for musicals.
Ben D (us) wrote: Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole star in one of the most over-looked historical epics of the 1960s. Offering fantastic performances, and a solid script, Becket is thoroughly worth the effort of tracking down a copy. When I wanted to see it, there was no DVD or VHS and it hadn't been shown on TV in a decade. Now it is on DVD. Do yourself a favour, and watch it. It might not be the greatest film ever, and it does have a few duff moments, but power-house acting like this comes along rarely. Worth it.
