(au) wrote: An artistic, surreal, almost psychedelic tale of the young girl Valerie, faintly resembling tales like Alice in Wonderland and Red Riding Hood. The two main motifs in the movie are religion and sexuality. While erotic behavior is all around Valerie, the clergy is a two faced monster: on the one hand demanding chastity and humility, on the other hand attempting to abuse Valerie sexually. Unfortunately reality and dreams are so intertwined that the viewer can hardly distinguish an unambiguous plot line. On the other hand, the movie is so full of aesthetic visualizations and enchanting music that the viewer is tempted to keep watching.
