The Corruption

The Corruption

The film takes place in Vicenza in 1956. Anna (Guerin), a beautiful lawyer's wife, feels abandoned by her husband and grows closer to their maid, Angela (Michelsen). The maid convinces Anna to try increasingly daring erotic games.

Anna is the much younger wife of an upper-middle-class functionary, who, at the film's beginning, is suffering from her inability to conceive a child. To further frustrate and confuse her, her husband's aging and care intensive mother is sharing their home, and there is the maid, Angela, who has a liberated and natural attitude toward sexuality. Angela eventually leads Anna on a journey into sexual discovery, and the two young ladies deliver a number of scenes together that are very sexy, and actually quite innocent. The games do progressively become more daring, and as the stakes rise, the relationship of the two women ends on a rather cruel note.. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Stephen C (br) wrote: Mezmerizing Doc about the events at the Olympics in Munich in 1972. Macdonald plays the film almost like a feature movie using footage from the event and interviews with those involved. What the film shows more than anything else was how organized the terrorist group were and How naive the German Authorities were when it came to dealing with these men. By using the Olympics the Palestinians were able to show the world the cause they were fighting for and the Germans showed how much of a hash they made of the rescue of the hostages. An Excellent Companion piece to Spielbergs Munich Film and an excellent film on its own merits

Aj S (ca) wrote: What a terrific film, with one of the best performances in Robin Williams early latter part of his career. This seriocomedy, has political overtones about immigrants and how they will make it in America, and what they'll do to make it in life as an American. Williams sweet & sentimental performances is really the highlight of the entire movie which leads it into a strengthful film. Although, the movie does open pretty slow for the first half hour, it starts to pick up right when Wiliams character finally arrives in NY after that we get things cooking about the American life, many of us have never seen before.

Darren R (ag) wrote: Terrible effects, awkward dubbing, uninspired writing and dull action... yet I can't bring myself to hate it. It has a certain campy charm, a fine cast and even a score by John Barry. (A bad Barry score is still better than most composers.) Most disappointing of all, however, is Caroline Munro dubbed by another actress. I might have given it another half or even full star if they used her voice.
