The Curse of Sleeping Beauty

The Curse of Sleeping Beauty

Thomas Kaiser inherits an ancestral mansion that has been in his family for generations — only to learn that he has also inherited an ancient curse stemming back to the Crusades. Forced into his new role as “protector” — the guardian appointed to keep the evil demons in the house at bay — Thomas teams with an ambitious local realtor and paranormal cleric to unravel the mystery of the house, while struggling to awaken the beautiful Briar Rose, held captive in a terrifying netherworld seen previously in his dreams.

The film is an entirely new, dark vision of the classic Brothers Grimm adventure. It tells the story of Thomas Kaiser who inherits a cursed ancestral mansion and must unravel the mystery of the house, while struggling to awaken the beautiful Briar Rose. . Marcus M (br) wrote: As a 7 year old i used to watch this again and again on VHS, and after 20 years i still enjoyed it ! sure it's cheesy as hell with fall apart sets and Peter Strauss is just a Han Solo wanna-be, and a young Molly Ringwald whinges her way through the flick. Michael Ironside's "Overdog" still is a creepy.

Jeff B (br) wrote: What starts as a rather humdrum coming-of-age film transforms into a profound view on human emotion and life choices. This metamorphosis occurs halfway through during one of the most shockingly abrupt changes in overall tone I have ever seen, adding a large dose of dark comedy to this touching drama.

Indu R (gb) wrote: A great Western showing the story of two bounty hunters taking down the criminals.

Shawn M (ag) wrote: I failed to understand this movie at all, the more it progressed into the story I was more and more lost on why you would even make this a movie.. I had to look up the plot afterwards to understand but I'm still lost. The movie was still entertaining but its very,, veeeerryyyy strange.

Scott M (fr) wrote: An absolutely fantastic follow up to The Hunger Games. Catching Fire was incredible. It was full of action and the story developed well. Jennifer Lawrence is a brilliant actress.

Ashe B (ag) wrote: A poetically dark and beautiful film, Valhalla Rising conjures magic from its sheer starkness and silence. I find most modern films to be full of needless, self-serving dialogue that comes off as smarmy and trite. This film does away with modern film convention and goes back to the basis of what a film should be - a purely visual spectacle. This is a moving painting that assumes a certain intelligence in the viewer, in that some interpretation is left to the individual. The brutal silence is a voice of its own, while the exquisite pacing keep the tension and the story drawn tight. This film will find its audience in a select group of viewers that enjoy the artistry of film and in dissecting the multilayered, timeless symbolism.
