Hugh R (es) wrote: Quickie Rant ReviewI have heard some people saying that this movie is a "Feminist\Female Empowerment" comedy. First off, it's not a comedy. It would have to be funny to qualify. Secondly, "Female Empowerment"? The main protagonist is a narcissistic sociopath who views other human beings the way everyone else views toilet paper, as usable and disposable. If a man did exactly the same things, said exactly the same things, and had the exact same motivations and emotional detachment concerning what he had done, every woman on earth would say he was a disgusting pig. Making the lead character female doesn't make her actions any less revolting. This movie is a series of awful people using one another and never once treating one another like human beings. If you want funny, go elsewhere, this is just tasteless.
Clem S (ag) wrote: Hopkin's portrayal of Picasso centers around his misogynistic personality rather than his creativity and rather like the movie on Pollock. Picasso comes off less than human in his regard of women. Hopkins is a fine actor but even his great thespian talents couldn't really make this movie shine.

This movie has a great cast and tons of hilarious moments. Definitely a film for those who want more like Better Off Dead.

It is the main reason of my attraction to that movie. Just some fun and supernatural adventure! Dann M (jp) wrote: A campy and fun horror film, Urban Legend delivers some exciting thrills. At a small New England college a mysterious killer murders a series of victims using urban legends as a MO. It's a clever premise that's used to good effect. In fact the script does an impressive job at selecting which urban legends to use and how to integrate them into the plot. And the cast, which features Alicia Witt, Rebecca Gayheart, Jared Leto, and Tara Reid, is quite strong. Additionally, there are some interesting cameos from notable actors of other horror series. Still, there's a bit of cheesiness and clicheness to the story; which is kind of a given with the urban legend motif. While it has a few weaknesses, Urban Legend is an entertaining film that delivers some witty satire along with its chills.
