Andrew M (br) wrote: Is there any franchise that has botched it's history worse than Highlander? I mean, there was Highlander, then Highlander II which ignored the original's ending and pieces of the story, then Highlander: The Series which ignored II, then Highlander III which ignored II and didn't mention the series, and now Endgame which follows Highlander, the series, and ignores II and III. Got all that? In the opening moments, there's a flashback that is supposed to take place 10 years ago, the night Connor MacLeod went missing. If this movie is set when it was made (2000), then ten years ago would be 1990. But, Connor MacLeod appears in the first episode of the series which is set in 1992. They never say when the movie takes place (they do refer to "Present Day") so it could be 2002 but I bet they didn't even stop and think about it. Part of this movie is about Duncan and his wife. Wait, what wife? Tessa was supposed to be his first wife. Who the hell is Kate? Kate was never mentioned once during the series. Aye-aye-aye-aye-aye! Massive continuity errors aside, the fights scenes are pretty good. I just wish Donnie Yen and Adrian Paul fought for longer than thirty seconds. Also, Christopher Lambert looked old. It was hard imagining him as an un-aging Immortal when the previous films were still fresh in my mind.
