The Devil-Ship Pirates
A pirate ship, fighting in 1588 on the side of the Spanish Armada, suffers damage and must put into a village on the British coast for repairs. The village is small and isolated and the Spanish convince the villagers that the English fleet has been defeated and that they, the Spanish, are now their masters. A French-Mexican movie from Bunuel that contains a few scenes that presage his more famous movies, but that tells a fairly straight-forward story. Movie is also notable as the first time that Piccoli appeared in a Bunuel movie.

Big has a good enough story revolving around it, but doesn't seem to execute it to it's full potential, as I'm sure a few other films with the same idea have been able to. Tom Hanks definitely brings his best performance to the table, and perhaps not"Oscar- worthy" is still ridden with charisma and charm. Perhaps I had too greater expectations, because is it simple and entertaining at various times, but Big lacks too much in depth and general entertainment, and is a bit too light and fluffy to really engage the viewer for the full running time.
