Moses G (es) wrote: What can I say--I just didn't find it that entertaining. The characters were a little too quirky and the dialogue a bit too artificial for believability, thus making me not care too much about what happened to them. And the comedy just wasn't laugh-out-loud funny. If you love Wes Anderson, you'll probably love this movie. But for me, extreme quirkiness alone does not a great film make.
Lee B (nl) wrote: What a mess. I can?t really review this movie as a whole because it is a bizarre and not very appealing mash up of concepts that doesn?t play right at all in any context, romantic comedy, teen age sex comedy, black comedy, it just sits there. And worse, it isn?t funny. The jokes are almost all sexual and not very creative. Sophie Monk is pretty and I have no idea where she came from (not geographically, of course) and I never understood why people thought Ryder was thought of as beautiful, but this movie tries to show it and I don?t get it. And why keep them apart when either story just doesn?t work on its own. Or keep playing up the coincidences. Ahhh?I?m done.

It is a movie that you would know was made by Trey Parker and Matt Stone without even knowing before watching it. It is a raunchy, funny, and sometimes disgusting movie that will make you easily offended and make you burst into tears of laughter. The best part about it is that it is made with puppets which it feels like watching a movie with real actors. It is awesome and a great movie to watch if you want some great laughs.

Ladd W (nl) wrote: What little there is to love in this joyless cop flick (a sweetly naive performance from Jennifer Jason Leigh as babe-in-the-woods prostitute Susan) is quickly swept under the rug by Baldwin's reckless Jr., an evil and bitter man who sees nothing wrong deceiving everyone into believing he's a cop, let alone a good person. He crushes the hopes and dreams of the gullible Susan while robbing from the perps on the crime-ridden streets of Miami only to take for himself. Fortunately, he gets what's coming to him, minus a pinky, ring and middle finger.
Joshua H (gb) wrote: Despite the title there's not much actual fighting in this movie which would be fine if there was anything substantial enough outside of the fight scenes to make up for it. There wasn't. The fight scenes were impressive though, but what bothered me was that Tatum went from getting his ass kicked to beating a quality fighter with nothing more than a couple of scenes with him airboxing and doing pushups inbetween. Overall not a terrible movie, but could have been much better if it either had better writing, or had made it's fight scenes more of the focus rather than it's lackluster story.
