Tatsuhito K (ca) wrote: Some of the shorts are hilarious and kind of clever, while others are utterly self-indulgent and unfunny. Woody Allen is a great comedy writer and if you are fan of his work, I think you will appreciate his intelligence and how he managed to come up with seven unique, if not immature, short films. I laughed here and there, but I can't really recommend it to anyone. My advice to those who are thinking about checking it out is this: just have sex with your significant other/friends with benefits/strangers you meet at a bar. It's a lot more pleasurable than watching this movie.

James H (br) wrote: Misery is the perfect horror film because this could actually happen, which is terrifying. I expect this is Stephen King's worst nightmare. James Caan is fantastic and Kathy Bates is psychotic and petrifying. The camera angles from Reiner are genius showing the characters as vulnerable or dominant in a subtle manor. It's a controversial opinion but I think I might like Misery even more than The Shining.
Jeffrey M (jp) wrote: Another underrated film from the 1980s. This 1983 comedy film stars Dan Aykroyd as Clifford Skridlow, a Chicago college professor who is used as a patsy by a pimp and becomes a flamboyant pimp Doctor Detroit, protecting the ladies from a woman mobster known as Mom. A movie with lots of humor and class.

The second, that same man struggling to stay true to his relegion in the face of war. Only Alvin C. York could've completed those struggles in the manner he did.
Peter F (ca) wrote: Possibly the best documentary to come out regarding a never-made film. You can tell Frank Pavich has utmost understanding and appreciation for the Dune adaptation that never was, using a sound track and visual style that really gives people a vision of what Jodorowsky wanted his film to look like. It's also a must-see for film nerds, as it poses some provocative questions on what direction Hollywood blockbusters may have taking had the film been made, all while holding a strong spiritual message about the necessity to make art. Might be my favorite doc of the last few years, and I'm not just saying this cause of the subject matter.
