(gb) wrote: Writer?s block is not the worst thing that happens to a young author in this thriller. Through he was on track for success, his torturous past still haunts him. Then he meets an old love, and things seem to be improving until he is framed for murder. If you like suspense and love story movie that is really a great movie. Who is killer you will come to know in the end. I liked it very much.

(ca) wrote: If there was one thing I expected of this film, it was that it would be macabre. It was in the last few minutes, but that was all. The rest was just a bit dull with a very predictable direction and twist. It wasn't even very tense or atmospheric. There was just a lot of fake orgasms and a blind bloke with a shit New Orleans accent that sounded Polish.
(us) wrote: A blaxploitation film of the turkey variation, however, too much of the already precious running time is spent on set-up and attempt of drama to make it a bona fide classic - surely the 'superman' element would have afforded much more fun. However, Abar proves to be entertaining nevertheless.

(kr) wrote: Election is the type of satire where one is more likely to wince than laugh. It is a bit dark and edgy and is reminiscent of American Beauty. The performances are good, though a bit overwrought. Election, while not thoroughly enjoyable, is a still a remarkable film.
(mx) wrote: Awful that can be funny at times but is so exhausting and loses steam toward the end. While giving Freddy too much of a back story
(nl) wrote: I suppose this film must be decent, because it made me feel angry - only at this particular sect that went and did this horrible act that cannot be wiped from history. But this is a better made film than most make it out to be. The actors in it were compelling, Utah scenery was beautiful, and, as manipulative as this movie is in pulling all the strings, it ended up being effective even amidst the flashy gore. Ambiguities of whether LDS authorities were really involved aside, it's a surprisingly accurate look at an American atrocity.
