A beautiful, if ambitious and amoral, youth is tapped to become the lover of a powerful senator. The young man quickly realizes that he can hold this place, with all its perks, only as long as he is young. He has no other function than being young. With the help of an aged judge, the young man, referred to only as The Lover, contrives a plan to make a change in the way of the world, a plan that will take him years to realize. To succeed, he must manipulate, in subtle and not-so-subtle ways, the senator, his wife, the family chauffeur (who was, when young, a lover), and, by implication, the entire well-planned and controlling everlasting secret family.

Luke M (au) wrote: This creepy thriller from 1978 is less of a whodunit and more of a who's-doing-it! In terms of characterization, it's a brilliant piece of screenwriting, but the climax doesn't deliver the satisfaction that's promised throughout the film. New York fashion photographer (Faye Dunaway) has visions of murders through the eyes of a serial killer. She "sees" her friends and associates as they are murdered, one by one. NYPD officer (Tommy Lee Jones) steps in to protect her, but the visions keep on coming, and the killer keeps getting closer and closer...

James R (fr) wrote: Took me awhile to finally get to this, but I'm glad I did! Donnie Yen stars as Ip Man. A renowned martial artist that never trains anyone. After a turn of events the Japanese take over his city forcing Ip Man to change his ways and train others in order to protect themselves. Led by a General that enjoys martial arts Ip Man see's this as an opportunity to give hope to the Chinese people when he challenges the General to a tournament style match. The movie's plot is ok, but its really the martial arts and fight scenes that steal the show here. It's just some fantastic stuff and you really have to watch it to get a feel for what I'm talking about. Overall, great movie with some heart any kung fu fans should definitely give this one a look!
