THE FALLEN is a three-sided story about German, Italian, and American soldiers, set in Northern Italy during the final weeks of the World War II. On the one side, a group of American supply soldiers delivers ammunition to the front line, a journey that becomes a descent into hell, the success of the mission becomes less likely with every setback. On the other, a doomed German unit and their ragtag Italian partners struggle to maintain morale and discipline amongst their beleaguered troops in the face of certain defeat. Torn between these are the divided loyalties of the Italians, both fascist soldiers and communist partisans, who have turned brother against brother in a bloody civil war. The film looks at the everyday life of the soldiers, their encounters on the road, their hopes and dreams, and the differences in values, morals, and patriotism between the cultures at the end of that era.
Graham B (it) wrote: A fascinating insight into the West Memphis Three. 3 teenagers wrongfully convicted of the murder of three 8 year old boys in Arkansas. It follows the story from the crime itself, through to the trial, the subsequent investigation into the actual perpetrator and the fight for the release of the WM3.It's a long slog, but there is a great deal to fit in here. Previously this case has been documented by the 3 Paradise Lost films, so maybe 2 1/2 hours is quite the edit.It is a tale of gross injustice and the fight for the truth. The conclusion still leaves threads dangling though and leaves you feeling for the families of the victims and if they will ever get their justice. Powerful stuff.

Bradley M (de) wrote: While originally designed to be a horror, with the cast and the acting it quickly just becomes awesomely bad. Much like Sharknado, it's a terrible film but overly enjoyable nonetheless.

The police are baffled, as is the two leads who are all trying to solve this case before more people start disappearing (which happens anyways). Boring at times, though, the film does offer enough interesting scenes to keep my attention until it finally ends. Some of the highlights include seeing John Saxon (Nightmare on Elm Street fame) play the police chief, Burt Young (as a very annoying police officer who compares everything to his old gig in Chicago), and an climax/ending that is the best part of this whole film where we finally see this awesome The Thing/Little Shop of Horrors hybrid monster for only a few seconds (really wished I could have seen more of this monster; it was awesome) and the resulting ending that is foreshadowed earlier in the film which I really wish could have been explored more (perhaps in a sequel). Would have been great, but I guess I can deal with what has been given to me.

Hrant B (br) wrote: I read a review that Josh Radnor is the new Zach Braff and I tend to agree. The movie was a little sluggish and tiresome but the second half does pick up. I think Josh should just stick to TV. You could definitely tell that the script was written by him and the words he uses are his words commonly used on his TV show. It was worth watching once, especially to see Kate Mara and Malin Akerman.

Bengel W (mx) wrote: A fun and exciting start to this film gives it a great chance of being fun and entertaining. For a children's film they have spent time on sets and gadgets and placed some highly skilled actors in the roles making for a very professional job. Toys and teenagers make things exciting and give the chance for a lay back and to dream, enjoy. Nibbles: Chocolate clairs.
